There's a theoretical chance, but I'd like to see who would bet on Juve progressing at this point. I think that deep down, most Juve fans know that we're out with this result.
I'd bet on Juve going through.

Do you expect Chelsea to beat Shakhtar?

There's every chance that game will be a draw.

If Chelsea don't win that game, Juve would then - by my calculations - go through if they beat Nordsjaelland and Chelsea, which is entirely manageable.
Then I challenge you to a wager, dear Red. Shall we say 50 pounds? 100? :D

Loser of the bet to pay the winner via Paypal.
What odds are you offering me?
No odds, just a clean, primitive, good old fashion wager. Simple stand off with a pre-agreed sum. Simple as: Juve go through, you get your money, Juve don't go through, I get mine.
You're on.

£20 says Juve go through.
Ok, £20 it is then.

Sign in italic to confirm :D

Pah.

Can't be done with your legal mumbo jumbo.
Wasn't "legal", just confirmation between you and me! Are we still on?
Yup.

Which bit do you think will go against Juve?

That Chelsea will beat Shakhtar or that Juve will not beat Chelsea?

Or will Juve fail to beat Nordsjaelland? :D

omg omg omg

I'm so close to being able to cross out "getting money from a Scot" from my list of things to do before I die :p
Where the fuck is @Jem83? :D

@Fred

So how is this Hazard guy doing lately?
He missed a penalty, but at least he led the European champs to the knock out stages.

Definitely not a flop!
there was a good report about him on "the hard tackle"

they basically said, he started very good, then teams figured him out and started flooding his flank when he got possession. this screwed up his game, his pesky moral dropped, and starts beeing underwhelming

they probably learned form the game against juve, how to double mark, make space on the wing tight, and anticipate, to kill hazard

How does it look for Juve for next year? Any chance of making it to pot 2?
I just made some quick calculations, and I'd say that it would be very hard for us not to make seeding pot 2! If my calculations are correct, we have almost the same number of points as Manchester City had at the beginning of this season. So that would mean it's enough to make seeding pot 2. And it's still possible for us to make a lot of points. So I'd say that we have to be extremely unlucky not to make seeding pot 2!

How does the situation look for our next round i know who are second but considering who can't play who , what probabilities we have of encountering the weakest of the bunch ?

The best bonus. Hopefully top players will think many times before deciding on signing for them, with no Champions League hopefully they won't sign Falcao anytime soon. If we can do 2 more top teams in the coming knockout stages we could finally excite top players to come play for us.
This would only apply to the January window (Falcao ain't moving in January anyway IMO) so it's not a big deal in regards to the transfer market really, united went through the same last season and I can't say they faced huge consequences.

@Red, your statistics actually reflect reality, this season EPL teams have been the worst I've seen in the last 10 years or so.

I don't know about the worst in that period, but the EPL has been awful this season.
Squad wise at least I'd say so, perhaps not 10 years but at least of the last 8 years or so.

Arsenal is crap, city are a mass of world class players that don't understand what team play means and have a dumbass coach.

Manchester United.. Well they're "good" but this has to be one of the most unbalanced sides I've seen from them.

Liverpool: lol..

Chelsea: fucked up big time in the transfer market, I'd say we're a little more balanced than united but just a bit, defense sucks and toothless in attack.

Compared to the squads these teams (bar city) had between say 2003-2010, they're all clearly worse IMO.

Yeah, maybe.

I just struggle to think back and make those sort of comparisons.

The key thing across all the 'top' English teams just now is that none of them has a good central midfield. That makes things pretty tough, regardless of what you have in front and behind that.

All right fellas now that we have qualified to the round of the last 16, let's count our winnings:

For Qualifying to the group stage we earned: €3.9 million

For each group match: €550,000. 6 matches= €3.3 million

Win: €800,000. 3 wins= €2.4 million

Draw: €400,000. 3 draws= €1.2 million

For advancing to the round of 16= €3 million

Total= €13.8 million

That's enough to prize us a want away striker in January. ;)

Plus the gate receipts from the three home games.
I think that was allready incalculated before the summer mercato

when we know our opponent for the first knockout round, we'll see what our chances are, and reinforce for quarterfinal if we think we'll win the first tie.

dont think we'll spend in the winter if we draw real madrid
