They won the CL by packing the bus, which makes a defense less exposed. Now that they try to play possession football, their weak defense is exposed.

David Luiz and Gary Cahil are shit defenders, while Terry is only getting worse.
They could try packing the bus again...that's what I was referring to as their defense anyway, not the 'backline' :D

David Luiz and Gary Cahil are $#@! defenders, while Terry is only getting worse.
Gary Cahill is good..Both him and as well as Lescott are very good defenders.Really there's no reason to hate just because they're English and overhyped.

However Terry has been on a steady decline and Luiz looks like a clown when Chelsea are playing an expansive game like they're doing now.Cole is still their best defender in my opinion.

Platini warns clubs to cut spending or face European ban
The former France star has revealed that 27 clubs are under a watchful eye after their spending because a concern for the governing body, with bans a possible outcome

Uefa president Michel Platini has revealed that he has given 27 clubs a deadline to make sure they adhere to the strict Financial Fair Play rules, or face a ban from European competition.

The former France star added that the move comes after a number of clubs started reneging on scheduled payments for players.

“They were told to sort their finances out before June 30. Then they had until July 15 to discuss any problems,” Platini told reporters.

“The next check on September 30 will be vital. For clubs who can’t follow the rules of the Financial Fair Play system, it is over and out of Europe.

“We are protecting clubs who have sold players and struggle to receive payment. A number of clubs have had to chase their money for years.”

Despite the regulations, European champions Chelsea continued to spend this summer, totalling an outlay of £80 million on the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin.

On the other hand, Premier League champions Manchester City were much more prudent during the window, spending a modest £15m on Jack Rodwell before a frantic deadline day saw five new faces arrives for an estimated £30m, as they reduced their outlays in light of the dangers FFP hold.
:seven:

PSG has a net negative expenditure of €234m on transfers alone in the past 2 seasons, surely they should get kicked out.

I agree, I like Cahill a lot.

Not in terms of individuals imo.

No way would Barzagli or Bonucci even dream of a place in Chelsea's lineup.

However, as a collective unit, Juve's defense is a considerably better than Chelsea's.
Why would you say this? Chelsea don't even have any capable defenders other than Cahill. Clearly taking the piss.
