I added Aguero above too ... Cavani and RVP could well be part of that list but think they lack the "showing up for the big games" part, which for me is just about the most important thing in a WC striker.

Drogba, even at 34, belongs there too but didn't include him 'cause he took himself out of the football that matters.
Cavani destroyed Man City in both games, was very good in the home game against Chelsea, almost always performs against Juve, etc.

Cavani shows up more often at big games than Ibra to be honest.

Eto'o is still world class I guess, it's a shame he plays in Russia.

maybe - I just think cavani is too heavily dependent on what happens around him and that makes him too limited to be considered WC

P.S. yeah, Etoo too but the same argument goes for him as with Drogba

My girlfriend had quite the otitis over the past days. during the day the earpipe (horrible translation) was closed because of the inflammation, so the eardrops didnt work anymore, and in the evening, the painkillers and blok of ice also did nothing.
Seems its a serious pneumococcis infection, so she got specific antibiotics and a painkiller that would make even me drowsy

thanks for the links !

Higuain is WC when it comes to positioning, probably the best I've seen since Trez and Inzaghi, but unfortunately for him he is also WC when it comes to missing chances. If he could score half of the great chances he gets he would end up with 50+ goals a season.

As proper reliable goal-scoring number nines, I'd probably only say Falcao, Cavani and Van Persie.

And Trezeguet, of course.
Lately, i'm getting the impression, that footballers seem to be to much of the same, the niches are gone.

trequartista's, artistique number 10's, tru number 9's, world class poachers

fuck i wish it was back 1995-2005

It might be, that I look at the past with brighter eyes (the 90s).

But the current generation of footballers is rather sad. There seems to lack talent, personality and diversity among modern footballers.

Would you agree with Elvin that Falcao is much better than Batistuta and that the latter is merely on Cavani's level?

I mean, Falcao is really good but that's quite pushing it.
aatistuta is legend, against the legendary serie a defence and tacic era.

Falcao is a doll
he's one of the worlds best on an extincting position, but with much lower quality of defending.

and i dont even want to talk about trashtowns front sewer

Yeah, to some extent.

Everyone is a SS these days, to quote Cronios.
i have to agree, yought training is much to focusse around making a complete player, rather then refining his best characteristic

To be honest, of all the quality forwards, nearly everyone is SS, extremely few quality ST

mediocre ST there are more
