Hello, I'm Alex, I run the Celtic Journal on which the article 'An Open Letter to Michel Platini' was published on. I did not write the article but I'd like to take this opportunity to put some things straight.

Firstly the article was not an attack or attempt to discredit Juventus - instead is was criticising Michel Platini's decision to make those inappropriate comments regarding the draw. Not only because he is a Juventus support but after all he is the head of UEFA the governing body and should be neutral - especially based on past events in football generally regarding match fixing. Platini should have remained neutral after all.

The over-reaction from Juve fans seems to stem from one users twisting the story to make it seem as if it was a personal attack on Juventus and linking back to match fixing. This is entirely not the case.

All I can say is the draw will be exciting for both sets of fans - anybody writing off an opposition at this stage of the Champions League is very silly - Juventus have arguably one of the best midfields' in the competition are clear media favourites but football is funny game, especially with Celtic's home record in Europe - you can never really say what's round the corner and that's the magic of football.

You will be most welcome in Glasgow and I like many others Celtic and Juventus supports look forward to this game!
what?! did you read the letter?

why mention calciopoli and contes role in scommessopoli, and the game eleven years ago if not to discredit and/or attack juventus.

it has absolutely no relevance regarding platinis statement.

btw. you smell distinctly of doublæ troll account

So let me get this straight you 100% reject any involvement of any sort match fixing in the whole history of Juventus?
Nope, there was a scandal in 2006 called Calciopoli where Juve were relegated.

But apart from that, what is that thing about 2001 and Conte's ban hat the author of the article mentioned and what does it have to do with Juve or with the match against Celtic? That article was pure propaganda and an alibi for the Celtic fans if they lose.

Funny thing is you could probably accuse Celtic of dubious dealings with influencing referees every season. And you'd be right.:D

It's too bad you weren't smart enough to realize there were some major errors in the letter before you put it up. Or maybe you knew they were there and put it up anyway. Either way...major fail.

It was absolutely an article to discredit Juventus. What does Platini have to do with Juve and match fixing? If the criticism was of Platini's neutrality then what does that have to do with Juve and match fixing? The guy who wrote the letter is clearly butthurt.

But most of the letter deals with Juve and match fixing. The over-reaction is from the writer of the letter and Celtic fans in general.

Mentioning Conte's ban was the best. Not only it was a hilarious ban, completely undeserved, but it was for something which happened in another club. It's the same as if Rio Ferdinand moves to Celtic next year, Platini says that Celtic will easily beat Sparta Prague, and I send an open letter to him, saying that Rio Ferdinand missed a drug test while he played for United and he was banned for 8 months.

Lol, that article was nothing more but a terrible attempt to discredit Juventus. And I still don't know what were those scandals shaking the Italian football back in 2001 when Juve beat Celtic? Are they the same as the scandals in Scottish football from 2008? You know, the so called "never happened and I completely invented this" scandals.

Calciocaos was match fixing.

This whole scenario reminds me of Rangers' death this summer, and to this day even though UEFA, their own chairman etc declared they are a new club - they insist they are the same old club.

You were involved match fixing, it is as clear as day - you were charged, and moved on. The only reason the linked the article back to match fixing because of Platini's strange comments for some who runs a neutral footballing governing body.

We have readers from all over Europe who agree with our article. Would also like to question how many of you have actually ever even been to a Juventus game - seems a like there is a large majority of diddy fans jumping on the bandwagon.

Over and out.

Hmm, so do you know which matches were fixed? Can you even do a google search to find out?

And clear as day, you say... I take it you've seen a lot of Juve games yourself which seemed suspect to you.

Bah, lets not lose time and energy on this guy. He obviously lied and he did write the article.

I'd be mad too if my favorite team players can play football as well as a donkey plays a piano. Platini actually said the truth. If the ball is a piano, Juve are Mozart and Celtic are donkeys. Of course we play football better than those donkeys and of course we'll easily make the quarters.
I still can't grasp the fact that UEFA is letting Scottish teams in the CL. Those guys don't even play football. The thing they play is some mixture of rugby, boxing and a donkey playing a piano.

:lol: The only thing missing from all this was to call us glory hunters. Cool story bro. Oh and by the way...you are once again either really stupid or misinformed. According to UEFA...Rangers are not a new club and they keep their history.
