Is Lampard benched because he isn't in good shape or AVB isn't much of a fan of his? That midfield Sal posted (assume those are the official lineups) looks way too sparse IMO ... too attacking a team, imo, considering the opposition.

I honestly don't know for sure, Lampard hasn't been the same player for a while and won't be back to his best at this age but he always pops in with a goal in an important game.

Though, in all honesty I really don't know what's going on in AVB's head, one day he praises Lampard, he scores and has a relatively good game and the next he's benched. He has a really weird rotation method, I don't think the senior players are really impressed with him so I wouldn't rule out any dressing room fallouts.

It's all speculation anyway.

I am not underestimating Chelsea at all ... not one of those who think Napoli will crap them out today.

Still, Chelsea needs to play a closed game at the back to have a chance vs this Napoli team - playing high defense as they often do in EPL would be suicidal, imo - and their best defense to give them such a game, with the personnel they have would be Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Cahil - Luiz ... Luiz can play well at LB - solid in defense, good going forward, while he lacks the tactical awareness to be a top CB just yet.

Anyways, Chelsea can win this game if they play good, tactical football and don't bare themselves in the back with a high defensive line ... but not sure AVB won't end up doing just that.

I'm also not sure about this crapping all over Chelsea either (seen loads writing off Villas Boas after the lineup), I still think that any of these Chelsea players can step up and have a freak performance.

Following Cavani and Hamsik will be their test anyway.
