“I was always happy with this group, right from the day of the draw. I immediately thought of how much my team would grow, as you only mature after facing the biggest teams,” said De Laurentiis.

Haven't posted here for a couple of months, just wanted to say;

YES, YES!!!!!!!! that's two down, two to go

I'm going to use English media tactics, look the EPL rubbish league their undefeated team who are currently first just got knocked out of the cl early, must be an awful league.

BTW Inter really are a sack of crap, but their lucky because the only 2 good teams who finished second are both italian, meaning they wont be drawn out with anyone all that good in the second round. Not that it takes much to beat them these days anyway

Napoli did well to hold their nerve. They looked much better once they knew they had to win. Seemed uncertain at first, wondering if they needed to show the aggression to win the game or if a draw would be enough.

Good to see an English team finally get punished for years of complacency in the Group Stage. Man Utd really did deserve to go out since the only team they managed a win against was Otelal.

And nice to see Italy have more teams though than any other country.

Any word from the Balkan members as to whether Dinamo-Lyon was a fix? I don't expect proof, just a general feeling.

That'd be the end of Man Utd's season.

Cardozo. :heart:
from somebody who grew up in the Balkans - it's hard to think of one thing that isn't a fix over there ;)

the thing is there were reportedly 2 good goals - haven't seen these myself but that's the story around here - disallowed for Ajax ... makes me wonder if that makes it a full-fledged conspiracy now :klin:

I would prefer Italian teams to go as far as possible and not win it, co-efficient points are vital and rivals playing two competitions will only help us.
I have a sneaky feeling Napoli will draw Chelsea next round. Also if it were 2 major Italian teams being knocked out in the group we would never hear the end of it, I wonder what their excuse is now.

The EPL commentators, journalists and fans bring on all this hatred themselves. If they just kept to themselves and were modest about their achievements, honestly there wouldnt be so much hatred towards them. But they always wank on about how their league is the best, the most competitive, their style of play the most exciting bla bla bla bla bla.

They just cant help making digs at other leagues, especially Serie A. They love to dish it out against us, but fuck it feels good to watch them get humiliated like last night. I wish nothing but the worst for all English teams, Im sorry but they can all go get fucccckkkkkkkkkkkkkked.

I honestly think the Italian teams are slowly, but surely, getting back to being strong and competitive in Europe again. I said it last year when 3 teams made the knockout round, and Ill say it again now. Still nowhere near what they used to be, but the signs are encouraging for the future.
