Allegri won't be regarded as a top coach until he wins a CL or gets to the final. This being said, I would love to see Mou do any better with this set of Milan players and what Allegri would do with Mou has or has had to work with over the years.
Really?

I'd love to watch Allegri floping hard at Porto then. And Mourinho built his own Inter, just for the record. I guess Allegri would never design a new Eto'o, create a top5 player in Milito, get Lucio back from the deads and make JC the best keeper in the world, for example, but that's probably just me... by the way, go check all those guys (except Eto'o) now and compare them to the Mourinho's time.

Mourinho would do wonders with Milan's squad. You have a bunch of good players and already some great ones. Abate is the one who gets the most of my curiosity. I guess he'd turn into WC under Mou, just a guess. Then you have the likes of Aquilani, Boateng, Nocerino, Cassano, Pato and Robinho who could only get better by working with him. And I'm sure he wouldn't be wasting quality players like Pirlo for the likes of Flamini, Ambrosini or MvB too...

You a Parma fan now Flamez?
Not really. :D

Given that 'modern' football is the way everyone apparently needs to play, and Milan played in a typically negative fashion that is bound to fail, would Milan have beaten Barca if they had also been playing 'modern' football?

not this Milan with a midfield core of 34-35 yo players and some good but not great players in other positions ... carlo's Milan of 2004-2007, hell yes.

This was the only way for this Milan to get any result vs this Barca team, which was also coming into the game in a better shape - closing them down and stifling the midfield, being physical - trying to beat Barca at their game would be detrimental for any team out there, I think, not just this Milan.
