To be fair bringing in Aquilani and letting Pirlo go was a terrible move. Making up this mystery player idea then bringing in Nocerino smacked of desperation and a team who seemed to have no ideas on who to buy or lacked the financial ability to do so.

Take Juventus for example yes we did not get Aguero but then we replied with three signings Vidal(10 million) Licht(10 million) Vucinic(15 million).

Ontop of what we already spent for Matri, Quag and Pepe.

This comforted me because it showed we had money to spend, unlike Milan who deep down had very little.
More like Vidal, Vucinic and Elia :p Pretty much your dream mercato.

I've always thought that Milan have been waiting for the chance to get Ganso.

Letting Pirlo go was not a bad move for Milan at all - his time at Milan was over. Getting him for free, was a great short term solution for Juve as he still had enough quality to take a poor Juve team up a level or even two.
Aquilani was never a replacement for Pirlo - Allegri had different tactics in mind that din't include Pirlo anymore.

After not being able to sign fabregas, Milan preferred to lay low and save the money for reinforcements in the winter - why hurry and waste money for the sake of spending it, when Santa Clause can bring you a present come Christmas :D ... trust me, Milan isn't done reinforcing the team for this year ;)

Then why sign Aquilani and Nocerino? They hardly took you up a level. Yes you may have got them cheap but it would've been worth getting atleast a better midfielder and one of those.
no, signing Nocerino and Aquilani allowed Milan to get two good players at a very low price, while keeping the budget for this year's mercato virtually intact for the winter

I wanted Inler badly in the summer, I really do like him. However I'd not seen much of Vidal so that's why. Elia and Vucinic I loved but Elia I'm disappointed in at the minute.

Very good is taking it too far. Vidal is very good, Nocerino is solid but far from very good. Aquilani is one of the main reasons our midfield was shit last year, he's a bad player. However you'll look at the winter mercato and baring the South American market teams are not willing to relinquish their best players, like they're in the summer, so again that's a silly tactic.

I won't lose sleep over Milans average and ageing midfield and it'll take atleast two quality signings to bring it up to a level that is very good. There was too many variables in the summer that proved you lacked the financial power to compete on the market.

Triple post but sue me :D

acmilan I think baring Juventus, no other team has the financial power in Italy anymore, too many debts and too many positions to fix with little money.

Roma has financial muscle now. They will probably fix their defense next summer.
Good point, they spent alot this summer indeed. Yes I think Rome and Juventus are now the two most financially secure clubs in Serie A. Both of the Milan clubs are in a bad way. Look at Inter having to sell Eto'o and then they were willing to let Sneijder go.

They'll be also building a new privately owned stadium within the next 5 years.

Seriously Juventus can be the best team in Serie A for you guys, but Nocerino, Boateng and Aquilani are really good at Milan.

Ambrosini, Gattuso, Flamini, Seedorf, Bommel and maybe Emanuelson have to go.

But Yeah Vidal, Pirlo and Marchisio are really good midfielders for you guys.

There is a small chance that all three of City, United and Chelsea will go out. But it's close to impossible. For that to happen Valencia mustn't lose or play 0:0 with Chelsea in London, Basel must beat United and Napoli has to beat Villarreal in Spain.

Still.... :xfinger:

The one I'm most surprised by is United. How the fuck do you put yourself in that position in a relatively easy group? Ferguson and his B-team. I bet they put on their best players against Basel, can't risk it. Hopefully my boy Shaqiri has something to say about that :D

If Van Persie stays fit(unlikely), continues scoring like this and has a good Euro championship, he will deserve the Ballon d'or.
Word, I'd love to see him get it.

Well, even if Robin might deserve it, Messi will still win it in the end, for the good of football.
If Messi can be given the ballon d'or in a world cup year where he and his team choke at the WC while his club chokes in CL, then he'll be given the ballon d'or for the next 10 years and even after he retires.

No need to mention that award anymore. It's not valuable.
