And me and Rab are cheering for Italian teams because they are Italians.
Just like you are cheering for Tottenham because of certain Croatian-players.
I'm cheering players, not the team. And their success or failure has absolutely no effect on Juventus. Whereas Milan winning yet another CL trophy will bring Italy that glorious 4th spot and even more reputation in Europe. Their 7 CL trophies against our 2, yeah I'm sure gonna hope they get another one. Hopefully they even take over Real Madrid. All as long we can make the competition by finishing 4th. Yay. Forza Bilan.

Why not our 2 against Man Utd's 3rd? Or Madrid's 9th?

This is European Cup, all European teams are our rivals, no?;)

Says common sense. Milan, Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, etc. fans gloated and cheered just as much as Inter fans when we were relegated to Serie B. Do you think any of them shed a tear when we lost the Dortmund or Madrid? This good for Italian football is nonsense. We're rival teams, rival supporters, that's how it is.

From a personal level, I've never understood the logic that goes on around here. I've been watching Serie A for a long time now because of Juve, and the league has just grown on me. I began to like Italy because my favorite players from Juve wore the Italian shirt. I seldom watch the premiership, and I barely watch La Liga. They mean nothing to me. When a team like Roma beats United, of course I'm going to be happy.

I'm not talking about what's good for Juve or anything like that. I'm just speaking from any football supporter's point of view. It makes perfect sense to support England and English teams in Europe if you support United. It is the same with Real Madrid and Spain, and it is the same with Juve and Italy.

It's human nature, I suppose, to support whatever is more familiar to you. Apparently, if you do that around here, you are labeled a 'fan boy' or some idiotic shit like that. If you happen to support Juve, and also happen to hate Italy and Italian teams in Europe, good for you. That's your opinion and I respect that, I don't agree with you but I don't act like a child because of it. Where the hell does anyone get off trying to tell me who I should hate or love? I just don't get it.

It's been said too many times by now but it doesn't hurt to say it again that the Italians in CL doing good will be completely pointless as long as those in EL do as they did this year and the previous years. In the CL final last May it made sense to support Inter (I still couldn't do it though) because it directly decided how many Italian teams will play CL in 2012. If Juve wins 4th place then we will play CL next year only because of Inter's win. If Inter drew or lost, 4th place this season in serie A was gonna mean EL, not CL.
But right now (just look at the UEFA club rankings) it makes almost no difference how will the Italians do in CL. Milan and Inter can play the CL final and Bayern/Schalke can be eliminated in this round, and still Germany will have 4 teams in CL for the next years.
Things can change after 3-4 years ONLY if in the next 3-4 seasons the Italians do regularly good in CL and they regularly pass the group stages, make the 1/4's and beyond in EL.
That's reality.

Not really, but didn't I already say, fuck all of them?

I'm not stopping you, support them all you want. Doesn't make it any less wrong in my book and I'm gonna say it like I see it. I'm a Juventus fan and that's where it ends at, all others can go fuck themselves. Especially every other Italian club.

Ohhh Can't wait for the Arsenal's 'flawless, fluid, attacking champagne football' against Barcelona. :andyandbarcelona:
You mean against flawless, fluid, attacking champagne divine football of Barca whose victory is equal to victory of "football"?
