Watching some people here celebrating their "most hated & despised team" win just because their opposition was an English team is quite sad.

@Alen that hype is annoying, even if England has some really good players they need to pull their heads out of their asses and start playing as a team.
It surprises me actually. I'd never support you guys winning over anyone :D

That's FootieDeebo for you :D

You should have seen him last year when all English teams were eliminated before the semis. It was like his best day ever. I felt so happy for him back then. :D

I know the mentality Alen, trust me 7 years of secondary school and peep telling me how 'superior' England was and whenever Juventus would play an English team, no matter who the people supported they'd just tell me how crap my team was.
That's the nob head mentality I believe you are talking about. :D

Add me to that list, its why the anglo-juve meetings we have had during the past has made me go bold.

Yup, that sort of thinking is what never got me attracted to Arsenal forums. Its actually quite amazing how intelligent folk who know so much about the game can be so ignorant about other leagues, and especially the Italian.

You don't need to go far, just a small peek at the Arsenal forum in Xtratime, check out what they say when they talk about Serie A players, its alarming.

I know, that's why i said it. :D
Sneaky bastard. I didn't think it was intentional :D

Actually, that's the same reason why i'm not a member on any Chelsea forums. It's quite alarming. I as someone who likes to watch football in general regardless of the teams or the league, find it hard to be around people that biased, a little bias is normal, but English folks take it to a whole new level.

Attempting to discuss Serie A with people over there would be like talking to a wall. :D

So true.

People here think Iaquinta >> Benzema is something to laugh about, they should go have a look at some of the gems being said there. :sergio:

I will never forget a discussion i had in an Arsenal forum that went on and on for pages, the discussion was about who was the more promising and talented player, Theo Walcott or Pato :sergio:

:agree:
Back in 2005 I specifically remember my friend telling me that Barros was better than Del Pie and all he could say was how well he'd done in the recent euros.
I do however think apart from the stupid English 'islander' mentality that contributes to this a smaller portion of it is caused by the fact that Italians are really homebirds

:lol2:

It had to be one of your most frustrating experiences.

I can only imagine:

"Pato plays in that old, graveyard league for a finished team who has a 40 year old as captain" (i bet some of them still think Maldini is playing.)

"If he was that good an English team would have snatched him up before"

"All brazilians are overhyped, and he's not that good"

"Theo is one of the brightest football prospects in the world"

I could go on and on. :D

Ya more or less how it went.

I was branded time and time again as "not a real Arsenal supporter" for saying that Walcott will not develop into a top player 3 years ago, you can't imagine the flak i used to get for saying he was overrated after that run against Liverpool :D

Ya well i read that about Totti. Beat that :D

Yeah, that's the typical behaviour, one cannot express objective criticism without being branded as a "fake fan". What really annoys me is that they don't even seem to be interested in providing an argument of their own, they just call you names because you don't label every player in the team as great or World Class. :sergio:

When you suggest a player in an English team isn't world class they usually throw some rant about how our only attacking midfielder is camo and how overrated he is.
