That was quite a lesson Real gave Milan.

It could easily have been 5-0.

Given that Gattuso spent the game playing against Ronaldo (and did a decent job), Milan's midfield was effectively Pirlo, Seedorf and Ronaldinho.

You can't beat Real Madrid without players in midfield who can tackle and press the ball.

Really silly team selection by Allegri.
A Milan side from a few years ago would have done a lot better, even with similar players. They would have gotten more of a possession game going like they used to under Carlo. It's just that this Milan is too old and disorganized.

If they play like they did today, we better damn well beat them. But you and I know they won't lay down so easily against Juve in Serie A.
It might sound silly, but it's not about how they play, it's about how we play. Milan will not become any faster in defense and midfield, no way. It will depend on our midfield, how fast we move and how we neutralize their slow midfield. If we do that, and I don't see why we shouldn't with the midfield we had on Sunday, then watch Ibra and Pato being as useless as they were today.

I actually think that we have the right team to beat them.
Of course, small details can decide a lot in such a match. A brilliant Dinho and a brainfart by our defenders can change a lot.

What a pathetic display by Milan, that was really shameful. Hate to use the old cliche but its applicable here, when it ain't broke don't fix it. Why did he play Ronaldinho behind Pato and Zlatan instead of the usual 4-3-3 they normally deploy? He just made Milan overly reliant on playing the ball through the middle instead of trying to stretch Real's defense, in the end it was quite easy for Real to congest the midfield, it was a field day for Alonso and Khedira. Allegri isn't a coach you can rely on in Europe thats for sure.

Ronaldo had a fucking field day in the first half too, what a pathetic player Zambrotta has become. Nesta was quite shit too today, and Seedorf was a pussy in that free kick by Ronaldo.

Hopefully they will play Ronaldinho in the middle against Juve, because he is so much less effective there.
I doubt he'll play in the middle. He'll probably take the right side, as he did this year, and there Marchisio can do a fairly good job.
I just hope he won't be played in his last year's position. With Krasic there, Grygera will be alone against him, and we know how that worked last year.

Since they don't handle the flanks too well, we might. But we'll have to take the initiative from the start much like Real did.

That was one of the worst performances I've ever seen from Seedorf, so that really didn't help.

Ancelotti's Milan didn't usually have more than one player in the team who wasn't willing to do any defending. Tonight, they had three players who were just passengers when they didn't have the ball.

This means that Gattuso, Seedorf and Pirlo have to do more work than before, despite being older and less capable of taking on a heavy workload.

Ancelotti is a far superior coach to Allegri, though, so it's no surprise Milan aren't as well organised.

Playing Ronaldinho in the center is a mistake that has been made so many times in the past, sometimes i don't understand coaches who don't learn from their predecessors mistakes. Anyone who has watched Ronaldinho over an extended period of time, knows that he's effective mostly as a left forward with as little defensive duties as possible.

Wenger "If anyone were to score a goal we'd have wanted Eduardo to score it"

The fans giving him a standing ovation after he scored.

    Eduardo :touched: :touched:
