Indeed, we have all reasons to love football and a team, and its for teams or players who are wonderful. I got into Juve (partly due to my uncle) because of Baggio and Del Piero, then it grew from that as a little kid. Its typical and expected a kid/or newbie to football watches a Ronaldinho and a Messi and maybe gets into their team as a result (become more then player fan).
I've no shame in admitting that Del Piero is the reason I chose Juventus as my club, many people here are the same. People who change club because of a relegation or poor results can be criticised if they have no loyalty.

shame he probably wont ever win the world cup though
Probably, but how many players can say they can, majority of World cup winners are inferior to him anyways. Even though he is already becoming a mythic figure in history of football at a young age, I dont think ANYTHING can add to it more then next world cup, if he dominates and wins a WC IN Brasil as an Argie. That would be most priceless scenario of all.

Manchester looks weak on the paper but they can still beat every club. As a team they tick perfectly.

Tonight they were just on a level below, though.
Obviously, a 4th division team can beat a 1st division team, even if it's rare, that's football. Head to head this Man Utd would do well to win 1 game out of 10 against this Barcelona. Playing well as a team is important up to a point, usually they are a good match for quality. Against Barcelona they aren't.
