That close calls are not what people complain about. I don't remember anyone even mentioning Pique's goal because it was a very close call. Everyone was talking about Busquests-Motta incident. And all the calls which went in Barca's favor against Chelsea, who even based on your philosophy of watching football, was the better team in both legs against Barca two seasons ago.
Oh, Drogba could give all of the cheats in Barça a lesson on acting and rolling around on the ground.

Decisions sometimes go for you, sometimes against.
Can't really recall the games against Chelsea to be honest.

I recall though a Jose managed Porto side "cheating" Man U a few seasons ago.

yes, but if he wanted that, Adebayor shouoldnt' have went in. Instead, another defender possibly.
You do realise that defending doesn't always entitle defending? Having an attacking outlay, a player to hold up the ball outside your half while your team gets its shape/back or merely to take the pressure of; is very important as well?

Look what happened to Tottenham after Crouch was sent off, they had no way to take the pressure off their defence and no way of pressuring the centre backs of Madrid.

Its pretty much the biggest factor why that game ended 4-0, whenever the likes of van der Vaart or Bale got the ball, they'd just be running into Madrid players because there was noone up front to pass too.

Moral of the story; you don't need another defender to defend, sometimes a striker/target man who can hold the ball up is equally important, if not more so.

Barca played anti-football as much as Real did. They played in order not to give Real a chance to counter (until 60th minute and the red card). Endless passing from Valdes to 40 meters from Real's goal and then back. Both teams are guilty for not allowing the other team to play football. But just because the useless possession was Barca's, Real are the anti-footballers in the eyes of some viewers.

Why? That was Barca's plan most probably. Not to give Real chances to counter because from the previous two matches Guardiola saw what's the problem and played it much safer this time. Barca didn't open up and didn't go all attack as they usually do. They were playing on a mistake in Real's lines, hoping a through ball from behind to find Villa and Messi.
As Mourinho noticed, the match would have ended 0:0 without the red card because Real weren't given an opportunity to counter and Barca weren't pushing to try and open up Real.
Both teams are guilty for that, not just Real. If Barca attacked we'd have seen a different match. If Real attacked we'd have seen a different match. None of them dared to attack.

Ade is not the kind of player who would help holding the ball up. He could have inject Higuain or Benz for that. If that was his plan in the first place, Me thinks. He probably wanted to make use of him on crosses. all in all Mou got it wrong this time.

Alen. I totally agree about the anti-football statemnt.

Barça most certainly attacked more in the first half and had one very clear chance (Xavi), and wasn't Villas attempt before the red?. Whose to say they would have scored even without that red card?

Interesting stats:
Valdez made more passes of the ball than any RM player did!
Xavi made 210 passes, while the whole madrid team made 210 passes all together..

And this alone tells you how much were Barca actually attacking.

Bianconero, if you have a chance to re-watch the match, follow Danny Alves in the first half. He was going exactly until the midfield line and didn't dare to cross it. Barca didn't attack more but they had one situation where their plan worked (deep ball to find a player close to the goal), while Real's plan didn't work even once because Barca didn't give them an opportunity to do it. Both teams nullified eachother.

Good god, watch it again! I'd rather go to the dentist.

Looks like I was right when I suggested that these two teams would tear each other apart, and be knackered both physically and mentally for the final.
Mourinhohoho, will want to stop Barça winning the trophy any way he can, and will send his team out to do as much damage, in terms of injuries and cards, as Real can.
Expect a blood bath.

Possibility. The only problem here is that many of the players from both teams are probably good friends too and it will be hard to convince them to hurt each other. The Spanish NT players in both teams, the Argies in both teams, the Brazilians etc.
It's gonna be hard to tell Xabi to kick his NT partners Xavi and Iniesta, or the LB Marcelo to kick the RB Alves, Di Maria with Messi and Mascherano . If these guys didn't know each other so welll it was gonna be a butchering yesterday already.

He has already started to wind up both teams. Expect more mind games from Jose, to fire up both teams to boiling point.

Home or away makes no difference when two big teams play a semifinal. Many times the home match is even more tricky due to the away goal rule.
there are always 2 sides of the story and how one see things. I guess we have to wait until 6th of May when UEFA meet to decide on what happened.

I'm not going to go on with this anymore, until football fans are forced to be granted another victory for football :D

But it's lovely to see how neutral football fans, at least in Iran, those who support neither Real nor Barca have turned against Barca and the constant favoritism they are getting in Europe. Many neutral fans I knew who were actually preferring Barca style of football have now become fed up with how Barca are treated in the CL :D
