Which is encouraging. We overhauled the team basically, missing 3 key players and we were a minute away from qualification.

We didn't have the legs after all that has happened over the course of the year.
Yep. Not bad in a transition year. If we sign another player or two of Sandro/Dybala quality, we'd definitely make the mark. I'd also like us to navigate our group in the CL next season a lot better, if we have a chance of coming first we MUST take it.

We go out of the second round, yet teams like fucking Benfica and Wolfsburg are still there. Annoying.

Anybody notice how Müller barely touched the ball all game but still scored? Wasn't a hard chance but he was in the right place, he's made an entire career off being smart and having sound technique. Funny guy to watch. Well he would be if he wasn't such a prick.
What do you make of it all Jay? What grade do you give the team? What, if anything, does it mean for us in the long run?

Yep. The biggest mistake was the Sevilla game. We will learn from it.

Curiously if we didn't have injuries to key players we would've been in even better shape for this match. Chiellini, Marchisio and Dybala are 3 pretty big losses.

However, if they had played we may have went 3-5-2 and i'm sure we would've got beaten playing this formation. The injuries forced us into a better shape/formation.

But we didn't have enough pace off the bench.

4-2 is incredibly harsh. Especially as we were the better team. Their equaliser absolutely kills us though.

The $#@! thing about going out of the champs league is having to wait another year. It's a shame we couldn't follow up our final place with another strong showing. I believe we were capable.

Despite the poor subs I still have total faith in Allegri. Like others have said, he has the flexibility that Conte never had in europe.

We completely melted and fuck knows why. We didn't clear our lines. Fuck it just hoof it away before Muller's goal. Just hoof the cuuunt into row Z with a minute left til 90min. We paid the price. All that hard work undone in such a short space of time.

Grande Jem

We are tired, the start of the year and the comeback has been incredibly taxing. We lost our most important midfielder and attacker prior to the game. You can't win them all but it holds us in good sted for the future.
Yeah the future is always bright even if we lost like this. So,according to you, lets wait until Sunday and show how this team is mighty against the best team in Europe ,Torino.I guarantee a lot of problems against them.Watch and see.

With a full squad I don't think we have much to fear from anyone, if you put Barcelona and their alien front line to one side. Anyone could lose this game in the context. I didn't expect a deep CL run this year but QFs, which is a minimum and fairly easy if you win your group. We should have done, we then would have made the QFs, but we weren't going to win it. For this elite level the team has stepped back at least a year in terms of CL experience/quality mix, but by next year we have to go again.

It hasn't fell into place well with fitness, we've had a lot of work to do to catch up with league results. The injuries are partly to do with that. The missing players tonight but look how many are playing who don't have 90 minutes in them. Khedira is the worst one. Mandzukic now, it's stop start all the time. Our domestic season has definitely hindered us in the CL this year. But I suppose it works both ways, and Napoli won't be happy to see us out.

In truth, I don't think we are quite good enough this year. I think we have improved in some areas but if I'm honest I think we are slightly weaker than last year.

If Dybala/Pogba keep progressing and Morata/Pereyra get last year's form, less injuries and plus the addition of another quality signing I think we will be in good shape for another attempt next year.

I can somehow understand how some say that the Sevilla game was a turning point, what about after that? Is everything, every turn out, acceptable after this? The supposed best defence conceding 4 goals on the trot after having a 0-2 lead is not acceptable and acting as if nothing happened. Brushing it off that fast is not acceptable. Let's take it like men and THEN move on.

Excellent first half. Good set up by allegri and very god approach.
Morata and Cuadrado

Second half Allegri fuked it up with the Morata -Mandzukic sub. The guy was semi injured and we all know Zaza would have put the insane worload required for the moment. Thats on you allegri.
Khedira is "has been material" already, but hernanes wass adding nothing. That was another mistake.

Evra the cherry on the cake.

Honorable mention to Sandro. The guy is stellar.

Fuk Coman and Fuk our board for selling him.

Apart from our royal fuk up in the first leg (maybe on allegri too)....we simply are a level below the top sides. Not because we suck, not because we lack grinta.....is because we lack more STELLAR OFFENSIVE PLAYERS.

Until hte board doesnt egt this inside their skulls..we will continue grinding games that we should have sealed.
