What about DP jack? Surely this game is just screaming out for him?
We here aren't aware of his fitness. The coaches know better so they will decide if Ale will play or not.

But assuming that he's still not ready to play more than 60 minutes, then it's risky to start with him. We'll be forced to do a 60 (or halftime) sub and replace an attacker.
What if we're a goal down and we need a third attacker? We won't be able to do it because Del Piero will have to be subbed out.

On the other hand, if we're a goal down and we need a third attacker in the last half an hour, then Del Piero will be a perfect choice.

Like i said, it's mostly about his fitness and i have no clue how ready DP is and how much he can last on the pitch.

I'm pretty sure Bayern will play something like this:

Butt
Lahm - Badstuber/Breno - VanBuyten - Braafheid
Altintop - Tymoshchuk - Schweinsteiger/Pranjic
Robben - Olic/Gomez/Klose - Ribery
Their attack is scary, but i see their side, particularly this lineup way too attacking. Tymoshchuk is the only defensive midfielder?

And with the defence they have, they surely should have better DM.

Its the question of, can our defence hold on Ribery and Robben. Midfield should be in our control.

Hopefully Grosso and Zebina will have good games.

This is also one of those games where a small concentration lose can end up being a goal for either side.

Except that Zebina and Grosso are far from being called useless.
Its still our weakest point though, our formation won't help much with their tendancy to roam forward at will, they both need to be at their tactical and defensive best otherwise ribery/robben will cause havoc.

We need total dominance in midfield if we are to have a chance. Melo/Marchsio need to be all over Robben and Ribery...with Zebina/Grosso right there to double down. Chiellini won't have a problem with Klose/Gomez IMO. I see their midfield getting stretched having to cover Diego and with the speed of IQ if he starts is going to stretch them further. DP, if he starts is obviously going to open up their defense.

Buffon
Zebina - Legrottaglie - Chiellini - Grosso
Camoranesi - Melo - Marchisio
Diego
Trezeguet - Iaquinta

WE NEED GOALS! AND PLENTY OF THEM!

I had Molinaro & Caceres in mind. At one given time one of them might be on the pitch. I think all goals scored against us have come in from crosses except Roma's.

We might have the midfield in the pocket, BUT, clearly looking at Bayern lineup, their strength is wings, Robben, Ribery, Altintop, Swein are all oriented to wings.

Bayern is exactly the sort of team that will cause Juve problems. They are a team that has strong flanks, which is Juve's main weakpoint imo, defending against teams that attack on the flanks.

With the new system Juve are adopting, the fullbacks are regularly exposed when teams attack on the flanks. Ciro needs to do something about it.

Zebina was our best player today, all the dangerous attacks came from his side. Grosso was the man behind our equalizing goal against Genoa. If you want to call them our weakest link, be my guest but I won't join you. Our weakest link is our mentality.

This might make my sig (not that you would care, just would like to emphasize how much I agree with you on it)

Well to be honest Ranieri's classic 4-4-2 formation would suit this game more. But i am not a fan of changing tactical setups too much. I think with a few tweaks here and there, maybe try and get Marchisio and Camo to help out the fullbacks a bit more when not in possession.
