so u think capello will play with a 3-man defense?
i think juve should play............

-------------------buffon-----------------
-----thuram--cannavaro---zambrotta--
---olivera--emerson--blasi---nedved---
----------------delpiero---------------------
--------zlatan------------trez--------------

with this team we can beat ajax 5-0 in the amsterdam arena.
Yeah that lineup would be just tuned for success, especially on the road at the Amsterdam ArenA. Only two natural defenders.

Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is being tipped to start against his former club Ajax in their UEFA Champions League opener.

Ibrahimovic came on a substitute on his Juve debut and scored in the 3-0 victory over Brescia.

Now it is being reported that Alessandro Del Piero could be dropped by coach Fabio Capello to make way for the talented Swede.

Ibrahimovic explained how much he enjoyed his time in Amsterdam.

"Ajax helped me grow, but I felt myself ready for a really big team and I chose Juve," said Ibrahimovic.

"I consider myself a winning player and I want to win either the Scudetto or Champions League."

Ibrahimovic also admitted that should he find the net at The Amsterdam ArenA, he will not be celebrating.

"In case of me scoring, I won't celebrate," he said.

"I have still a big respect for my former supporters and my former team-mates."

Ajax
STAR MAN: Rafael van der Vaart (pictured)
ONE TO WATCH: Tom de Mul

SKY SPORTS SAYS: The loss of Zaltan Ibrahimovic could prove costly, especially as no replacement was signed - but still they are brilliant on their day.

SKY SPORTS PREDICTS: Will be very close between Ajax and Bayern Munich for second spot - but the Dutch may just have the edge with van der Vaart the key figure.

Bayern Munich
STAR MAN: Sebastian Deisler (pictured)
ONE TO WATCH: Bastian Schweinsteiger

SKY SPORTS SAYS: Like many in Europe are trying to capture their form of just a few years ago, the likes of Michael Ballack and fit again Deisler will need to be at their best.
SKY SPORTS PREDICTS: See above!

Juventus
STAR MAN: Pavel Nedved (pictured)
ONE TO WATCH: Ruben Olivera

SKY SPORTS SAYS: Brilliant side and new coach Fabio Capello will not rock the boat - should be the team to beat this year.

SKY SPORTS PREDICTS: No problems for the Old Lady, probably will not have to hit top gear in the tournament until the latter stages.

Maccabi Tel Aviv
STAR MAN: Emile Mbamba (pictured)
ONE TO WATCH: Ismael Addo
SKY SPORTS SAYS: A solid unit without much in terms of true quality but should prove worthwhile opposition.

SKY SPORTS PREDICTS: Will be lucky to get a point, but they will beneift playing against three high class teams.

here i found someting interessting about our group!

we should be careful on this match.. we should not start so offensive and burn our cards, capello must take a slow approach..

we should start like this, the same line up that faced Brechia (exclude Camo)

-----------------------------Buffon
------------------Thuram----------cannavaro
Zebina-------------------------------------------Zambrotta

------------------------------------------Blasi
---------------------------Emerson
Oliveira-----------------------------------------Nedved
-------------------------------------DP/Zlatan
-----------------------------Trez/Zlatan

if things go well, then caps should rest some key players that are "endangered" of having injuries..(like Emerson, DP, Nedved, Cannavaro..etc)

Ibra shows Ajax respect
Tuesday 14 September, 2004

Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he won’t celebrate if he scores for Juventus against former club Ajax.

"I’ll restrain myself," said the £11m summer signing ahead of Wednesday’s Champions’ League clash.

"I still have a lot of respect for the Ajax Amsterdam supporters and my former teammates too."

Ibrahimovic spent three years with the Dutch outfit but believes the time was right to move on.

"Ajax helped me to mature but I felt ready for a big club and I chose Juventus. I consider myself to be a winner and I want to lift Lo Scudetto and the European Cup."

Although the Swede has respect for his ex-side, Ibra is confident that the Bianconeri can collect the three points.

"They are a compact and organised team but we are more experienced than them and have better individual players.

"However, we must look out for Maxwell, as well as Sonck and Anastasiou who are two talented attackers."

Whispers in Turin suggest that Ibrahimovic will start the game alongside David Trezeguet, with Alex Del Piero relegated to the bench.

Emerson should be fit enough to be selected in midfield despite fears over a thigh muscle injury.

Alessandro Birindelli is expected to replace the suspended Jonathan Zebina, while Ruben Olivera may step in for Mauro Camoranesi on the right wing.

Probable line-up:

Buffon
Birindelli Thuram Cannavaro Zambrotta
Olivera Blasi Emerson Nedved
Trezeguet Ibrahimovic

I like it. Zlatan is sharper than Del Piero is atm, and it'd be unfair to leave out Trezeguet after his goal against Brescia. Alex can play from the start against Atalanta on the weekend where it should be easier to get a good game under his belt. We'll see what happens after that.

it's normal he has respect for his team...and i don't think it's gonna be very easy for him to play now against them.
it's too early!

Then again, it was unfair to leave Zlatan out after his 4 goals :D

It should be very interesting to see how Trezlatan (you saw it here first, people :p) works out... will Zlatan's ability to hold up the ball and draw defenders work to Trez's advantage, giving him more room? Or will it force Trezeguet to become more mobile, constantly making runs for Zlatan to pick up on? I can't wait :thumb:
