I've rarely seen an athlete decline like Gilardino has over the years. Between 2004 and 2006, he was the best Italian upcoming striker and then he just fell into mediocrity. He had a small revival at Fiorentina but it has only been downhill after his first season there.

He's terrible now, he's pretty much only good at holding the ball. Sad, really for a guy who had such a great potential.
