who told you this? whenever teams are having economical problems they starting to use products of their academies instead of buying players
If they can if not they loan out players or co own or sell them. Why do you think co ownership became so popular. Then bigger clubs with money come and buy the players because the co owners raise the price to the "bigger" club

Happy we sold this guy before his value could drop because of a pathetic WC showing.

I don't think he's as terrible as the WC made him look, but he's of a similar class to a Matri type (who scored 20 goals in 2010 between Cagliari and Juve). Immobile scored 22 this year, playing in a style that suited him perfectly, where he was big fish in a small pond.

I think he'll be decent at BvB, but he's not a world beater, and BvB paying 20 mil for him is overpaying, and overrating the player based on a single season.

The game against Uruguay serves as an excellent reminder how he absolutely does not fit our style of play. If he had joined us, we'd be experiencing such performances week in week out.

With BVB he will undoubtebtly be much better, their style suits him almost perfectly. But everytime he scores for them, remember this game before posting how stupid we were to sell him.

I still don't think BVB suits him as well as Torino did.

BVB operates in really tight spaces even on counter attacks because they press higher and recover balls higher up the pitch which leaves their attack already congested in opposition territory.

At Torino, they sat deeper, recovered the ball deeper in their 3rd, which left a pasture for Immobile and Cerci to exploit on the break. There will be times BVB win balls in the same manner but alot of the time they recover balls because they outnumbers the opposition in an area. Once they win the ball, they have to play quick passes in that congested area to get out into space.

Torino was sort of like kick and run.

Also, most of Immobile's movements at Torino were in order to get service and finish where as at BVB, the striker makes alot of movements to draw defenders and create room for the attacking wingers.

In short, at BVB you need a striker with a bit more technical ability and smarts (no offsides). What Immobile has working for him is a willingness to constantly run and make important off ball movements and adequate finishing.
