What they did? If Ciro was not feeling ready he should say so..
Dont blame only board now
Don't be stupid, that's the best offer he could get at his position. You think any coach with Zero coaching experience would reject an offer like that? stop defending this retarded board..

Yes, reasonable person would refuse job if is not ready. He could ask Nedved for assistant or anyone else if he was not feeling confident.

But he wanted to be Italy's Guardiola right?

You are such a dunce. Seriously, how can you blame Ciro for accepting a job that was given to him? Are you really that much of an imbecile?

No question you are.
I did not offended you , but you just did. Im asking mods to calm down this retard.

He is gone. They cannot continue to feed us this bullshit about a project with all these poor results. They will have a bigger mess on their hands if they hold onto him and we continue down this road. Fans are already causing a uproar, and it's clear the players do no respect him either.

We have given him more than enough chances to turn our season around, and he has shown absolutely no signs of improvement. Time for Blanc and company to grow some fucking balls and do what needs to be done.

The only money we should be spending in January is on a new coach.

It's entirely deserved. You can't blame a guy for accepting a job, but you did.

Ranieri fans like you are all in the same boat of dotards.
There is a lot of fans like me, Juve fans.

Juve team bus pelted with eggs
Sunday 20 December, 2009
Furious fans hurled eggs at the Juventus team bus when it arrived for today's game with Catania.

The club has been under pressure since the Champions League exit to Bayern Munich and last week's 3-1 defeat against Bari.

Coach Ciro Ferrara declared he would “never” resign, but was greeted by a violent protest when the team bus arrived at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin.

Rotten eggs were thrown at the bus windows and there were also fireworks on the roadside, as fans insulted the tactician and players.

The Bianconeri take on Catania in a Serie A game that kicks off today at 14.00 GMT.

Alessandro Del Piero has been left on the bench, so Diego starts behind Amauri and David Trezeguet.

Funny logic around here. I will never go as low to insult Ciro, BUT, certain people didnt seem to have a problem with insults towards Ranieri when he was around and yet are now defending Ciro, who is actually doing worse (NO, i dont want Ranieri back, i havent said that in this comment, or have i?).
Nothing strange about it, Ferrara is a Juve legend, Ranieri is not.

I will attempt to make a rational, less emotional post here about Ciro as coach. How I feel about him as a player completely aside.

Ciro is the obvious scapegoat for the current team's obvious ills. It's easy to blame one person for everything that has gone wrong, and Ciro is the most obvious candidate.

On the one hand, he is a complete novice at this and it shows. Even the best coaches have difficult times guiding a club out of a crisis of confidence and form, and Ciro is less equipped than most. Should you throw Saint Guardiola in this spot with Barca, for example, and he suddenly will look a lot less like the man who can walk on water as many believe. (The primary difference being that Guardiola has a lot more resources and a much better squad, so this hasn't come up for him.)

But Ferrara is the focal point for the team. It seems his problems run very deep, namely:
* the team does not really seem motivated by him to win
* he lacks the toolkit to land on a working set of team tactics
* his substitution choices have always been bizarre and counterproductive, no matter what
* He has not shown the creativity to shock the team into different results, such as benching highly-paid, poorly-performing starters in favor of hungrier youth players

That in itself, even if there's a lot more blame to go around than just Ciro, is grounds enough to seek a replacement. There is too much at stake to roll the dice and hope to play catch-up -- no so much in the Europa League, but I have serious worries now about this club if it will even qualify for the CL next season.

Thus, much in the way that a coach like Ferrara needs to make a key substitution to switch a losing match in his favor, the Juve board really need to face the need to change one or two key elements in this club to turn it around. Ciro is perhaps to obvious, but unfortunately I think it is necessary.

While the winter transfer window might not offer a lot of opportunities, it would be worth considering a sale or two, and not just an acquisition, to shake up the dynamic of this horribly under-performing side. The team needs a massive shake-up to salvage the season or risk falling too far behind for a possible recovery that will come too late.

Unfortunately, a lot of passionate fans will want to follow the old Inter route: replace everything, top-to-bottom, as if to start over with a new club. But that's a recipe for continued failure. A few strategic decisions by the board could do a lot to set things in the right direction and leave it up to the team.

The players are worthy of a lot of blame too. We've lacked field leadership big time. DP has been mostly on the bench, and Cannavaro nor Buffon have been effective in the role. This is something we also need to sort out.

Ferrara: 'I won't abandon ship'

Sunday 20 December, 2009
Ciro Ferrara declared “I will not abandon the ship” after five defeats in the last six games for Juventus.

“The same disappointment our fans feel now is also in the locker room and the corridors of the club. We cannot deny the results haven't been up to the standard of this club and we're going through a tough time.”

The Bianconeri fell 2-1 at home to Catania on a day that was already tense with eggs thrown at the team bus and protests in the stands.

“It's a period when things keep going wrong for us, we're in the thick of the storm, but if we remain united I think we can get out of here. I like sailing and will not abandon the ship.”

Ferrara took the unusual step of substituting Felipe Melo just 35 minutes into the match, as he made a series of unforced errors and was particularly insulted by the crowd.

“Felipe was running into some difficulties and making a few too many mistakes, so it was a technical decision to replace him. Clearly we'll have a chance to talk things over and understand what the problems are.”

Juve have gathered just 18 points in last 13 rounds and in total have six fewer than at this stage last season.

“If I have to analyse and say what the problem is, I certainly wouldn't tell it to the media. Besides, if I'd found there was just one problem then we would already have resolved the issue,” said the Coach.

“It's not just one problem, it's a series of things coming together in the last three months. We had done very well at the start. We know we're not doing well, but I don't think you can blame just one element.

“I don't think we will go on to the transfer market. Diego and Felipe Melo are top players and certainly not the sole issues in this team.”
