Add to that, we're "probably" spending 15-17 mil euros on a player who would be a backup for sissoko !! Does that make any sence.Poulsen is allready in the team and he'd do a decent job as a back up to sissoko.
good post man....donno why you're so -repped....anyways with that kind of money, as cron said...we can resolve some defensive problems.

I agree that the money could be spent on building up the defence. But D'Agostino is far from a backup player for Sissoko. He would most likely bench Camoranesi in the 4-3-1-2 position we'll play in the upcoming season (Not to mention the high possibility of Camo getting injured + Sissoko being out for the African cup).

Poulsen is also a DM and a whole other type of a player than D'Agostino.

I was talking about Diarra not D'agostino on that last post mate ;) .

Am for signing D'Agostino cause i think our team would "click" with him. He'll add another dimention to the whole team and he'll fix a problem that we had last season and that was linking the defence with the midfield and attack.

Diarra on the hand is just a waste of money IMO. Where will he play in our midfield if we ever signed the guy ?! Sissoko is a sure starter, marchisio showed alot of class last season and he'll likely to start, D'Ago or a player similar to him should be added to that midfield and we're set.

Diarra would be a bench wormer and for 15-17 mil that would be a crime to keep him on the bench (and even the player wouldn't accept it).

Poulsen is allready in the team, he's willing to fight for he's place and can be a very usefull backup for sissoko. Thats my point.

I agree. But you're surely aware that he missed the entire season with a very bad knee injury. He's not old, he's 28, but still such injury might result with an "Andrade scenario".
Aren't you afraid of this or it's a calculated risk for the money we're gonna pay?

Diarra is an upgrade on Poulsen, but the Dane ain't much worse and he'll be much more useful than a chronically injured Diarra.
I really can't decide on this one. :frown:

I wouldn't agree,Poulsen performances were eyecandy while in Schalke and Sevilla but, those too teams as well as Real where Diarra plays(he never impressed me in Real,at least in big games) never used an orthodox 4-4-2. And if they did, players had much more freedom, and then it's hard to adopt and perform/impress in a strick 4-4-2 system where coach instructs you not to run over the center or never dribble with ball. Poulsen also rocks with NT,being one of 3 man midfield, even after the season with Juve in qualify ws Sweden, that's not the same player..... I think the thing is in formation,we'll see.

Look, people here don't quite get this. There is absolutely no point in dealing Poulsen away just to get Diarra on loan. The latter isn't much better than the former and has had major injury problems. Not to mention the fact we'd be without two players for a month most likely, meaning that Sissoko's substitute will not even be able to play in his place.

It's stupid. I wasn't for the Poulsen signing, but now that we have him and can't get a meaningful sum for him, keep the guy. He's not an entire disaster and should be better next season.

Poulsen:

“I am honoured by Fenerbahce's offer… £3.7m is a lot, but to me it's not just a question of money. I want to continue with Juventus,” Poulsen said.

“For me, it's very important that my family finds itself well in the city in which I play,” he added.

£3.7m = 4.3m eur

As i said, he's getting 3m eur in Juve and he rejected 4.3m eur.
I wonder how many players would have done it.

Anyway, Turk, how the fuck can Fener offer him such high salary? We're paying that money only to Buffon, Trezeguet and Diego.
Del Piero, Camoranesi, Chiellini, Amauri etc all earn less than what Fener offered to Poulsen.

 Respect, Poulsen.

I wasn't the biggest fan before you came, you still need to play better, but I'm certainly willing to give you more of a chance.

Screw Diarra, do not get him.

Fener's owner is very rich and they have one of the biggest fanbase in Turkey. So they have a huge income both from the board and the supporters

Check this out: "Fenerbahce have offered 13 million Euros to Fiorentina with the objective of signing Peruvian international left-back Juan Manuel Vargas."

It's sad that we go for Grosso and Dossena while other clubs ditch out 10m+ for their defence

now we're stuck with poulsen and tiago and that we got rid of nedved and marhioni and with camo aging and ailing we have no wings so we will be very predictable with the 4 3 1 2

Their president Azize Yıldırım is one of the strangest figures in our strange league. he is a shady characer, mixture of zamparini, moratti and berlusconi. he has funny quotes, cheating history and influence. as Kayo said he has a lot of money, he has builded best stadium in Turkiye. their merchandising and marketing income is very high. they have bought players like anelka, appiah, kezman etc. most of them flopped though. they paid 4 million euros per year for 35 years old Roberto Carlos. sad but true. they are richer than us at this moment and they were not in cl last season, will not participate in next season too.

btw, i am unhappy with Poulsen's decision.he makes us lose 16 million euros(including his wages and taxes). unless something extraordinary happens(if Poulsen doesn't step up his performance) we will repeat our failures.

IMO, we ain't that much unpredictable with CR's 4-4-2 too.

The unpredictability in our 4-3-1-2 will probably come from Diego's creativity or from DP coming back to midfield to retrieve the ball.
Thirdly, from spreading the field through the runs of our full-backs but we need good full-backs. :frown:

For the Poulsen vs Diarra argument. I have the impression that Diarra can defend better and he would be a better choice, if we are thinking of the 4-2-3-1.
He is younger (one year) and probably has more potential than Poulsen, who didnt impress us this year with his reliability either.

However he is more injury prone lately and this can be a problem. (though he has been pretty reliable in Lyon)
IMO, he is meant to replace only Sissoko in the 4-3-2-1 (meaning the DM in the middle of the 3 man midfield)
Whilst Poulsen can play both as DM (less effectively) and as CM too, covering any of the positions around Sissoko.
Actually, i believe it is an ideal position for Poulsen and this year we might unlock the best of his abilities!!

Considering Secco's skills and their market value.
I believe the difference we are asked to pay is not justified, neither tactically or strategically. So i see no reason on wasting time and money here, when we have more important things to worry about (defense)
Anyway the interest on him was has faded out...

ha ha,

they do offer what they like, but what the player actually will get onto his bank account is a totally other story ...

there are so many reports by foreigners that did play for turkish football clubs and did not get even a tenth of the money they were told they would get.
