Giorgio Chiellini has expressed his determination to make a swift return from last night’s injury setback.
The defender, who was withdrawn midway through Italy’s encounter with Republic of Ireland after receiving a knock, made his intentions clear through a post on social networking site Twitter.
Chiellini said: “I’m already working to get back from injury as soon as possible. I’ll be assessed tomorrow in order to evaluate the extent of the injury, but rest assured I’ll do all I can to make an early return.”
