Giorgio Chiellini has praised the group’s spirit after Juventus came away from the San Siro with a hard-fought victory. The Bianconeri’s defensive display was particularly impressive, with the 27-year-old joined by Barzagli and Bonucci in nullifying the threat posed by 15-goal Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“The team’s performance was the most important aspect of the evening,” stated the defender. “We changed eight of the eleven that featured against Siena, but everyone played really well. The new players, Padoin and Caceres, managed to fit in perfectly. This is the test that shows this team has great determination and tactical organisation.”
Chiellini concluded by outlining the Bianconeri’s attitude towards the domestic trophy: “The Coppa Italia is a primary objective, especially when considering the fact that we’re not playing in Europe.”
