For example! What do you have to actually do to qualify? Well, it's really a three-season process. In year one, you have to either win your domestic league, or finish close enough to the top to qualify for your local continent's annual club championship. These are huge, prestigious and excellent tournaments - the UEFA Champions League, for example. In year two, you have to win that competition outright. Then, in season three, you play the San Jose Earthquakes.

If Sepp Blatter and FIFA are serious about reducing fixtures, the Club World Championship would be an excellent place to start.
