So Ranieri finally decides to start Giovinco in one of the most brutal places to play currently in the Northern Hemisphere? This is the perfect situation to "take a chance on him"?

:confused2 Okay.

He said "potrebbe giocare dal primo minuto" which means "he could play from the start".

catch 22

you're damned if you play him, you're damned if you dont. if he's to be the best one day what better time to learn at a young age to deal with tough conditions, especially as its a near meaningless game he has nothing to lose

If you've got it, you'll take your chance to shine anywhere.

Let's hope he does.
Agreed, but still, Ranieri doesn't make any sense when it comes to fielding Giovinco. So much effort is seemingly in place to keep the player safe and sound, but then Ranieri opts to field him in Russia where it's not exactly like playing in Turin. So, it's completely irrational behavior.

I like seeing him play, but unfortunately the way we are handling him is nonsensical.

While Russia is a difficult place to play, I think there is some sense in playing Giovinco in this game.

Zenith aren't a particularly physical side, there are quite attacking - so Giovinco will get some space to play and it isn't a particularly important game.
