Disappointed by the team. That was pussy football that we played. We'd have been eliminated by this superior team 10 times out of 10, but the attitude sucked. We had 3 players who don't give up (Pepe, Licht and Vidal) injured or suspended and what was left on the pitch was really weak. Seemed like only Vucinic was mad. The others were nothing more but defeated men who didn't even try.
Midfield and wingbacks were sitting very deep and didn't display any hunger. So right on where the desire of the team is, they were sitting next to each other in the stands.

Impression maybe, but what kind of impression? One one side that we were completely outplayed and destroyed, but we didn't even leave an impression that we want to fight.
Exactly. What did we accomplish? We beat a Chelsea side that was a shell of their former selves and we beat the almighty Celtic. Laughable really. I'm really disappointed. I wasn't expecting us to go through anyway, but at least put up a goddamn fight. This is Juventus, not Inter.

Next year we will be a bit better than this year.. and so we improve bit by bit until we can win again in Europe.. we cant just win the champions league in our "first year".. we should improve every year until we are big again.. a team with 2 or 3 WC players can't win the cl.... But we got far and should be proud of it..

Something's off with Conte since his return a few months back.
His decision making and timing is really off.. Should've brought Matri on the 55th-60th minute, and maybe even change the formation.
Last season we switched between the 4-3-3 and the 3-5-2, but this time around we don't even have a backup strategy.

It is clear:
1) we can't have pirlo as our only creative force next year , too predictable, too slow
2) change the useless 3-5-2 with wingers we'll have disadvantage against top clubs and all have killer wingers
3) pogba instead of marchisio or someone else. Marchisio can't play in such top level, is better as substitution to rest someone who can do things that HE CAN'T
4)the usual bla bla bla striker problem

Better team won in both matches, even with our strongest team. There's no way I'm going to say refs were bad, or how Conte was wrong with subs or something. They were clearly (especially in the first match) one class above us and they surely deserve to go through. I'm proud of Juventus, though. This CL road was amazing, we reached 1/4 after struggling for years in Serie A. I'm happy.

However, seeing how it is at this stage I can't deny our weak spots which is clearly forward. We can survive in Serie A without a proper striker, but in CL at this stage we surely can't and we badly need a WC striker/SS. As for our 'dominant' midfield, we should think twice about it. They were squashed and I can't say it's our strong side either, at least not against Bayern as they dominated at all fronts. Marchisio is not good enough and neither is Bonucci.

Forza Juve. Fino all fine.
Agreed. I can also say we weren't lucky with draw getting this Bayern. Imagine if we had gotten Malaga or Galatasaray, we would've gone through even without a proper striker.

For all the people making themselves feel better by saying they're the better team (which they are) - you people need to WAKE UP!

It wasn't simply due to a gulf between the sides, tactics had a major role to play, and Conte being inexperienced, didn't know how to deal with it, all he knew to do was to keep on his "tried and tested" formations and tactics, too afraid to try anything different.

Take the first leg for example, he started with two strikers that have no idea how to hold the ball, and are generally horrible together. Yes they scored against Inter the game before, but please, Merda are a rubbish team. He also started with Peluso in the first leg, nothing more needs to be said in that regard.

Furthermore, in the first leg, it was obvious that Robben changed the game completely allowing Bayern to dominate completely, yet still, Conte didn't change anything in terms of personnel or formation, he was like a rabbit in the headlights. It was like he had his head in the sand until Bayern scored their second, and he then decided to change things up when it was way too late.

Anyone blaming Alaba's early goal should remember we were ontop for 15 mins after this. These are professional footballers, an early goal is not something out of the ordinary. Remember when we scored in the first minute against Merda and they beat us 3-1?

In the second leg, the team started well, but died very quickly, very very quickly, died out, and never tried to get themselves in the match again. Conte, knowing we need to score, took the safe defensive option of Padoin, instead of taking a risk and starting Isla for the first half. Regardless the goals we conceded were simply due to CB flops.

He had no answer on how to counter-act Pirlo being marked out of the match (as with the first), and had no way of motivating the team into putting in a more energetic performance. At 0-0, the team seemed content with the scoreline, they weren't pressing, weren't trying new things, just going through the motions.

Finally when the tie was over, with Juve needing to score 4 goals, he replaces a striker with a striker and keeps everything else the same, as though that was going to change anything. Again with the tie over, he throws in Isla, because he couldn't be blamed for taking a risk in this situation.

Yes Bayern are a stronger side, but Conte's tactics and inability to make choices to take the game to the opposition, or even react when things were obviously not working, had a big role to play in us being humiliated both home and away. It's as clear as day.

I am sure Conte will learn deeply from this experience, but one thing's for sure, he needs to be a bit more flexible, react more quickly, and not be afraid to take a risk at times.

Again played one striker too many, seriously which team other than Man Utd play more than one striker, we need some proper wingers or support strikers. Bayern were very good, they also lack a Messi or Cristiano but they have a lot of grinta and precision passing.

I thought we were far too timd, which has to come from the coach. I wonder how late we were waiting to really go for a goal. Maybe it was 70 mins, 85, I don't know, but as soon as Bayern score the tie is over. If we score with even 5 mins left the game can change.

I wasn't expecting suicide football as that is just as stupid, but the way the tie panned out over the two legs we had very few chances to show what we can really do. We were on the back foot after 30 seconds, but the response was disappointing.

We need a new playmaker, new keeper and a new striker.

I'm sure the Bonucci passes are a tactic from Conte, but shit man, Bonucci can't pass to save his life.

I think there are very few out there who can deny the quality of bayern, we sure tried tonight but our lack in quality over all showed our limitations against a side of true quality, the impression? well i would say we left the impression that we have spirit, heart and fighting spirit, and for the large part played intelligent football, up till this year the guys at work would take the piss out of Juve and how Pirlo is old blah blah they now have nothing but praise, and for an avid epl fan and bias arsenal fan is actually a really nice thing to hear. I don't think many would have given us much hope of qualifying from the group, let alone winning it, then to destroy celtic away from home? one of the toughest away fixtures in Europe. The only bitterness that remains is that i wish marotta had done a better job in January i just can't help but think that someone like Drogba would have made a world of difference to our attacking line, instead there were some who seemed content on relying on the likes of Quagliarella and Matri who were found out against a quality bayern outfit who are meant to be known to have a weak defence

I'll be honest, I said some unpleasant words about Conte when I saw him making subs right after we conceded the goal. He just added salt to the wound. We looked clueless and desperate, and we had 2 goals to chase. Why did he refuse to act on time?
