I actually think the seasons with Ronaldo we were a bit of a mess and hoped for CR7-magic upfront as our game plan.

Portugese RB / Cuadrado - Bonucci - Chiellini - Alex Sandro
Khedira Bentancur Matuidi
DC / Dybala Mandzukic Ronaldo

That midfield just didn't work, Chiello became older at was injury prone, AS regressed heavily, Dybala was never used to its full potential once we had Ronaldo

I personally think during the Berlin final we had one of the best squads. That midfield diamond with Pirlo Marchisio Pogba Vidal, alongside the backline of Licht Bonni Chieli and Kojo with Tevez entering his second prime was much more entertaining football.
I don't think anybody really disagrees. Berlin Juve was almost unmatched in Europe. Unfortunately the only team that could beat us was who we met in the final...then Bonucci scuttled what was left of our chances.

Ronaldo scored 100 goals in three years but besides him Bentancur didn't work out, Matuidi didn't work out, Can didn't work out, Douglas didn't work out, Kulusevski didn't work out etc etc

Yes, but the 2018/19 season, most of the top teams were shit/in transition, yes our defence was older, our midfield wasn’t quite as good as it was a couple of years earlier, but had we somehow got past Ajax, I would have put us as favourites to win against one of Liverpool or Tottenham that season.

We had an amazing chance to make the final. Ajax in the quarters, and then Tottenham in the semis.
But in the final, I'm not sure. Normally it's a 50-50, but with Juve it's like 10-90. The teams on the other side of the bracket were pretty good. A Ronaldo-less Real was eliminated early, true, but City and Liverpool were just amazing, finishing their EPL season with 98 and 97 pts respectively. Barcelona cruised to La Liga and destroyed everything on their way to the semis, and it should have been an easy cruise to the final after that 3:0 win vs Pool in the first leg. We were gonna get Liverpool in the final eventually, but that was an amazing Klopp Liverpool that finished the EPL with almost 100 pts and eliminated City and Barca on their way to the CL final (with a 4:0 win vs Barca in the second leg).
Imo, we would have lost one more final, even with Ronaldo.

Liverpool were pretty poor in that final. The early goal possibly disrupted the game but they didn't keep the ball well and were largely on the back foot. If they were playing a better team or even if Kane hadn't been clearly carrying an injury it may have been different. I wouldn't say that Liverpool team was unbeatable or close to the Real/Barca teams we faced.

2000-2006 and 2015-2018 We deserved at least one CL trophy. Football showed us its ugly side.

for that game yes. But in general no this was a very strong liverpool while Juve were shaky.

Messi/Ronaldo peak era ofc these teams were something else. Bale, Benzema, Suarez, Neymar...along with GOATs...thats stacked as fuck... cant compare them to any other club really

Liverpool were a machine that season and time. Only Real stopped them winning 2 more CLs.

Our aging defense and declining midfield would not have survived Klopp gegen press or what ever its called.

From what i remember Liverpool actually dominated one of those finals against Real. But Real is Real and once they score they never look back.

Also that team you could already question our mentality. If we already lost the 2017 final the way we did. They lost their heads that match. Liverpool already showed certain mentality coming back from that Barca results for example from 0:3 to 4:0 in the semis.

Another contrarian that enjoys riling people up. Unlike Lion you dont do this in a funny way. Boring....
