Had a go at the legendary Championship Manager 01/02 game just recently...and woah! I forgot about the sort of quality this league once had. Literally, every match felt like an important game: Juventus, Lazio, Inter, Ac Milan, Parma and Fiorentina. It wasn't just Serie A however, all the major leagues across Europe had competition back then. Even La Liga had Deportivo, Valencia, Barcelona and Real Madrid. I know it's all nostalgia, but football real was better back then. So many different alternatives to who may win, to what has now become the standard. Even World Player of the Year was always a mystery.
EPL was pretty trash back then tho

I want Merda and The Red Cunts of Manc both eliminated in the next round - both disgusting clubs with an insufferable fan base.

Red Cunts vs PSG would be nice (I don't think any of the other runners up can eliminate them). Merda can get Bayern or Liverpool for maximum carnage.

Watch the analysis, Ferdinand and Owen highlight the problem at PSG and that fundamentally separates challengers from champions. When strikers track back, press, and cover dangerous areas it makes a huge difference even if they don't go in with tackles.

UEFA would have to make moves aimed at restoring parity, which will likely never happen tbh. It would need to be more "American."

Man Utd were a solid team; Van Nistle Roy, Beckham, Scholes, Giggs etc
Arsenal were good; Henry, Vieira, Campbell
Then you had teams such as Liverpool, Leeds etc who were ok. The EPL back then was stronger than what Serie A is today.

Anyway the game is free and legal to download here:

They tried it with the whole 'Financial Fair Play' it never worked. UEFA killed international football and the EPL killed club football.

I don’t think I’ve ever been less excited and less enthusiastic for a CL draw than now.

We are sleep walking away through another awful season and I can see us badly struggling against any potential opponent we face.

We won’t be in this competition next season imo.
