Wrong! That kind of attitude will actually cost us. We can't afford to be arrogant or complacent. "Showing up" is no guarantee of a win - it's really not as "simple as that."
Lyon are pretty woeful and they'll have no match fitness coming into this match. I'm saying that if we play like we have done since the Coppa final loss we'll get through. If Rugani is there then I'm not confident at all but that's because of us, I can't imagine Lyon playing amazing football.

If we avoid brainfarts, take the game seriously, and De Ligt, Bentancur and Dybala are fit and raring to, we should have no problems disposing of them.

This year's CL is unique, it's a blessing that we had more time to improve before the second leg and our improvement is clear. French league got cancelled, they won't be sharp unless they start playing some high level friendlies.

If we progress, the format and setting is different, it will destabilise some and benefit others. I don't see PSG progressing because of lack of competitive games, Bayern will be buzzing, one of Madrid or Barcelona will be devastated, lots of factors to think about. The fact that all domestic seasons will be concluded while we're at the quarterfinals is something we've never seen so I'm curious about how teams like City will respond after losing the league to Liverpool.

We are much improved now, Lyon will have no say in the matter. If we show up we'll get through, simple as that.
I have little faith in Sarri but I am more cofident then I was before Covid. If the right players can keep up form De Ligt, Dybala, CR7, Bentancur, even Rabiot and Pjanic show promise against Milan the squad should be enough to get past Lyon.

The most worrying aspect is defense. Could easily end up needing to score three cause a fullback or Bonucci fucks up. If Rugani plays its over. Danilo is trash, De sciglio is worse and, while I love him, Cuadrado is not good enough when defending deep and it will be a liability against teams better than Bologna and Lecce

There is a better chance than there was pre-Covid but I still won't bet on this game.

Agree, our team don´t strike fear into no opposition and rightfully so. We´ve lost both domestic finals in addition to Lyon and and now Milan. Inter games were a fluke, they were collapsing anyways and we see the real Inter now. Our individual players in midfield and defense are also highly error-prone compared the other European giants.

Basically this team suffers from severe lack concentration over 90 full minutes. Someone can and will mess up at any given moment and no one will be surprised. I also see a mentally weak team, except for Cr7 there are no winners at the very highest level, including the manager. I can just imagine the scenario if Lyon takes the lead, it´ll be Cr7 pressing alone and try to get the others to come with him. But all we´ll see is the usual Dybala sulking and the rest of the bunch just giving up.

PS: I´d be more than happy to be proven wrong. But we´ve seen this story before and I´m just being realistic.
