Antonio Cassano’s autobiography is packed with salacious details on his sex life, fights with Coaches and Francesco Totti. “Fabio Capello’s as fake as Monopoly money!”
The two men were extremely close during their time at Roma and Cassano followed the Coach to Real Madrid, but they fell out spectacularly.
It was only the latest in a series of rows the player has had with his managers and he admitted that in his new autobiography, titled ‘I’ll tell you everything.’
“[Eugenio] Fascetti is the only one I never had a row with, I detested [Claudio] Gentile. I told [Luciano] Spalletti ‘you’re not training that useless bunch at Udinese, this is not your house, it’s mine,” read the juicy extract.
Fascetti was his first Coach at Bari and promoted him to the senior squad through the youth ranks. Gentile was the Under-21 boss who froze Cassano out of the squad after a series of arguments, while Spalletti is still in charge of Roma.
“And to Capello, after he made me warm up with Ronaldo for the entire second half in Tarragona, in the locker room I told him ‘You are a worthless man, you’re as fake as Monopoly money.’
“As for [ex-Roma Coach Gigi] Del Neri, I couldn’t understand a damn thing he was saying.”
The fiery Bari starlet has never been shy in voicing his opinions, but this autobiography is sure to unleash a storm in the media in Italy, Spain and England.
He also gives his view on the famous split with teammate Totti that caused immense tension in the Roma camp.
“It all started when they were both guests on Maria De Filippi’s television show,” revealed a Press release publicising the book.
“The Giallorossi captain took home 80 per cent of the appearance fee.”
Cassano has recently said his girlfriend deserves the credit for putting him back on track in his life and career, but it wasn’t always that way.
“He had between 600 and 700 women, of those 20 were part of the showbusiness world,” continued the blurb.
“Sex and food are my great passions, a perfect combination,” added the man nicknamed ‘gordo’ in Madrid.
He shot to fame with a sensational goal for hometown club Bari against Inter on his Serie A debut on December 18, 1999, when he was just a teenager.
“Football saved my from being a criminal. I have never worked a day in my life, because I don’t know how to do anything.”
