I hope Moggi moves for star player to partner Emo in midfield - Vieira, Rosicky, Aimar, I dont care who as long as he is GOOD. This should be our top praority, not Cassano. I dont wont to see inconsistent Appiah, or "cant pass the ball" Blasi at that position next season.

To be fair, that would be much more of a higher priority for next season.

Though you still can't deny that a Zlatan-Cassano partnership wouldnt be a dream...

Yes, it would be the most deadly attack with two young prodigys. Maybe Moggi will wait for Cassano contract to expire, although Roma will hardly alow that to happen.

I was reading an article about Cassano last week and the writer's introductory statement was oh so true; when it comes to Antonio Cassano the good comes with the bad. That said, if there's a club that would sort out Cassano's problems in regard to behaviour it's Juve.

We all know that Cassano is a majestic young talent with all the makings of a future great, but I'm still not convinced we need him. I suppose that when opportunities such as this arise a top club like Juve should be taking them, but Cassano isn't a priority. I don't care how good he is, we have Ibrahimovic, Del Piero and Mutu who can all do a job but we don't have the ideal centre mid to partner Emerson. Personally I'd rather spend the 11m that Roma want for Cassano on someone like Rosicky or Pizarro and keep the forward line as it is than buy Cassano and Mozart. No offence to the latter, he's a good player, but the need for a centre mid is greater than that for an attacker so I'd spend big on the midfielder.

Sorry, VIn.

I'm 100% against this movement.

Cassano is a once in a decade type of talent who simply needs to be in the right enviroment. An enviroment that has champions both on and off the pitch, and a coach that he admires and trusts.

Juve has both.

Now, my only concern for the near future, and I'm talking about 2 years down the road, is this.

With all the money that is currently being tied up in our forwards, what will happen when its time for Cannavaro and Thuram to retire?? Where will the money come from to sign replacements, especially if the youth system continues on its woeful track record of developing absolutely nobody?

Obviously, a 35 year old Thuram and 34 year old Cannavaro in 2 years won't command very much on the transfer market, certainly not enough money to sign a much younger replacement with the skills of either one of those defenders.

That is my only concern.

But hey, I'm sure a couple more scudetti and a CL trophy within the next 2 years can alleviate some of that financial burden.

Get this kid already. Especially if all the have to do is sell Zala and the remaining half of Mighty Mouse's contract with Fiorentina.

This is so fucking stupid. Have you seen how this guy moves with the ball? I hate it when stupid journalists liken up-and-coming players to Maradona's unique glued-ball-to-foot style..Cassano can be contrasted to the great man in this sense. This man is a genius..and he hasn't had a major injury yet to hinder that.

So, without footballing ability to attack him under; what will you focus on? Discipline? Yeah, so he's a livewire..Capello WILL tame him. There is no doubt about that..and no, the Don can't hold his hand throughout 90 minutes and there will be times where he loses his head (see Roma-Juve at the Olimpico; shoving Camo from the field of play in frustration) - to be honest this is no big deal, he is a maturing talent and this sort of behaviour is beginning to filter out.

You may ask what happens when Capello departs, I can only hang onto the idea that Cassano by this time will have embraced the club and himself. Torino has a track record of calming the fire within.

Vinman, you're making a big mistake in opposing yourself to this move. The same could've been said for Zlatan..and I forbid any of you to bring up the Inter game, when mysteriously video evidence introduced itself to the Italian game over those fated 90 minutes.
In Ibra and Cassano we will have the firepower to overcome such stumbling blocks as Liverpool (ugh) in the Champions League, I trust you recall the pure torture of being unable to break down a defence which teams such as Bolton Wanderers make a fool out of week in and out..Cassano is another acquisition that we will owe so much gratitude to. This is a certainty..if you're still unconvinced, re-play Italy's short-lived Euro 2004 campaign.

As for him accepting his runners-up medal last night, to be honest..I'm a sore loser too and if I have to patronise myself in front of Galliani; I think I'd follow the same route. He has a winning mentality, one that he'll put to good use at our club.

CASSANO? YES PLEASE!

We need Cassano. He's got better technic then Mutu, better passes, better vision, everything.
Apart from that neither Mutu, Ibrahmovic, Trezeguet or Del Piero are fast players which Cassano is.

Apart from that, I want a Juventini up front in gli azzurri.

I want Cassano but ONLY IF MUTU STAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think you need to worry. :) No one is sure of Mutu's value at the moment, Moggi should be able to get 100% more in a year or so.

lol-another controversy surroundig vinny :D I have not seen him play, so I can't say, but I agree with whoever it was that mentioned the fact that we will need quality replacements for Thuram and Cannavero in the next couple years

I saw the Coppa Italia final too last night. And based on that and Cassano's attutide in general I agree, we don't need Cassano.

If we god him I think it would undermine Juve's philosofy (don't know if I spelled it right) of having the players fit into the club and not the other way around.

You're with anything that jeopardises Alex's starting shirt. He's in his 30's now..time to step aside for the next generation. Notably Cassano.

To me its best for both Alex and Juventus that Cassano comes. That way, Del Piero can go and play first team football in hope of landing a role in the World Cup which he wont get here (even if Cassano doesnt come), while Juventus can become the most destructive force in Europe with an Ibra, Cassano, Mutu, Trez quartet.
