what's more important is that he said he likes Ribéry(hint?) and Gattuso(won't leave Milan IMO). I don't care about the Cassano part. :)

Mancio welcomes Cassano Monday 8 January, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter Coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that he would be more than happy to have Antonio Cassano in his squad next season.

The Bari-born striker has been paired with a January return to the peninsula after his relationship with Fabio Capello deteriorated, although there have been no firm offers.

“I would be happy to have Cassano, I think he is a player who has great technical qualities, but is going through a difficult moment, which I am sure he will overcome,” said Mancini.

“We would all have a lot to gain if he were to return to Italy. However, I am aware that it might be difficult to integrate him into a side now that the season is well underway.

“In any case, I don’t think that Real Madrid will let him leave – yesterday he was on the bench. Andriy Shevchenko? I would be happy to sign him as well.”

I'd welcome Cassano and Shevchenko though. So what if Shevchenko is having one lousy season? In fact he still scores as well. That doesn't eradicate so many years on the highest level.

To be honest, I'd prefer keeping Bojinov and bringing back Miccoli. Bojinov is just as much as a risk, but he's both younger and has a better attitude. With him and Palladino, I think Juventus are fine in the attacking talent department. Miccoli would be an improvement over Zalayeta.

When you're suffering you don't refuse world class players that are vulnerable themselves as well. Both Cassano and Shevchenko need to salvage their career, what better place for them to do so at a club that is aiming for a return at the highest level?
