Massimo Carrera continued his successful start to life in the Bianconeri dugout by overseeing a 3-2 success over Milan.
The first-team coach, who made his debut on the bench in last weekend’s Super Cup victory against Napoli, believes the players coped well as the workload continues to build ahead of next Saturday’s big Serie A kick-off.
Speaking to Juventus Channel after the final whistle, Carrera said: “We played a good game, especially considering yesterday’s heavy workload and the hot conditions. The lads stuck to what we worked on in training and did what we’ve asked of them. We’re a team, we work as a unit and the results are a testament of this.”
After lavishing Paul Pogba with praise following an impressive debut in midweek, Carrera believes the midfielder handled the step up to a bigger stage, and also singled out Luca Marrone, who put in another impressive shift as a central defender.
“Marrone and Pogba did well, even though they’re both young and still need to improve. I’m also happy about how both strike partnerships performed.”
