Milan drop Tevez for Honda
By Football Italia staff

It’s reported Milan cooled their interest in Carlos Tevez because they’re in talks for CSKA Moscow and Japan star Keisuke Honda.

There is a limit on the number of non-EU players Serie A sides can bring into the country each year, so the Rossoneri have only one more slot left after signing Colombian defender Jherson Vergara.

The plan had been to sign Tevez from Manchester City, but their interest has notably cooled over the last few days, opening the door for Juventus to resume their chase.

According to Sport Mediaset, the reason is Milan are instead looking at Japan international Honda, who so impressed in the 4-3 Confederations Cup defeat to Italy.

Honda would tick every box for the Diavolo, as he is out of contract with CSKA Moscow on December 31 and therefore available at a cut-price fee.

He would also bring with him numerous sponsorship opportunities from Japan, where he has a huge fanbase.

It is not the first time Honda has been linked with a Serie A move, as he was also in negotiations with Lazio last summer.

The haters if he signs: Marotta got lucky, it was all Agnelli, Conte and Juve's money that made the signing. And if he doesn't, Marotta is 100% to blame for us missing out on the player, he is soley responsible, that and nothing else.
You mean the 11m bid we're rumoured to make!? The 'haters' believe we actually have a fair sum of money to get the job done, while the society doesn't. Without realising that this was the kind of money we spent on acquiring half of Giovinco last season.

The numbers are rumourd to be 12-15m transfer fee, 5-7m wages. This is a specific task, that Marrotta's been given a fair amount of time for. In fact, with two scudetti, a QF CL berth, our own stadium, we could be even looking st more inflated figures than that without jeapordising our financials. But if we won't, then this deal is as good as its going to get. If Tevez cannot be signed under these conditions (numbers as mentioned), then we officially need to stop believing we are a top club, and Marrotta needs a new job.

For what it's worth, I think Honda would be a good signing for anyone who gets him. Great value for money player. Wonder if Meelan sign Honda, does that free up Diamanti? :klin:

The problem is that there arent good asian players.

Many teams and peasants are tricked with the NT performance, where they give themselves 500% more then at clublevel.

Less then a handfull actually were decent in europe, and none were absolute class
Like Giaccherini is tricking the world right now, with his performances?
