But I think looking back now when there were no seasons to look back on, eveyrthing looks better, the players/quality/depth, the way the team plays, the passion, the stadium etc etc

I'm quite sure that Amauri will be leaving in January and possibly Iaquinta too. If Tevez takes maybe a €1m a year pay cut their wages combined would be fairly close to his. Also, Juventus is getting another €70m (loan I think) in December? maybe for debt and I think other funds included as well.
Tévez is on close to €10m a year, which is far and beyond what any Juventus player is paid. No matter if Iaquinta and Amauri leave, I can't see them paying one player what they'd give to three Pirlo's (or anyone else that could be equal, not quite sure without checking), and they'd rather go for two other options if Tévez refuses to take a pay cut. Maybe €8m a year is the highest they'd go at a push, but nothing which is significantly more than Buffon.

Buffon is I think on 6M, so offering Tevez more would be disrespectful to a legend IMO.

I do remember that when all the Aguero rumours were around that Buffon said that Aguero's wages wouldn't effect the club.

Quote straight from Buffon: The numbers are dictated by the times and depend on the form of the player and the team. I have never been jealous of what my team-mates earn and regardless of everything, if someone earns a certain amount then there is always a reason behind it.

Aguero earns more than Tevez now I believe.

"Disrespectful" is the wrong word, he already said he doesn't really give a fuck about what salary new teammates might have. What Tévez receives is just stupid amounts above what any of our players receive apart from Buffon, the club really should be asking for him to lower his salary for that reason, Juventus can't pay players like Man City do.

I've read that couple months before. I meant from general point of view. As Buffon still one of the best goalkeepers out there, 11 years here, stayed in Seria B, very loyal. But even if that wasn't the case we wouldn't have that kind of money. It's not just wage, you also have a transfer fee.

You wish. Can we somehow insert poll into this thread?
There was recently one on Vecchia Signora and the question was: Who would you prefer between Rhodolfo and Tevez?
They chose Rhodolfo. I guess they know what are our priorities.

Yeah, that's when people are presented with a choice of "either, or" between investment in Tevez and the backline.

The discussion here has mainly revolved around whether people want Tevez at Juventus, period, independently of the situation in defence.

Meanwhile, you're putting in anti-Tevez work here like you're on an hourly wage or something.

It's more than obvious you have some sort of vendetta against the guy.

What'd he do to you?

At first I gave my opinion couple of times about him, if you're interested you can find it. I always responded wih respect to those who adressed me with the same. But when some members started insulting me just to emphasize their presumptions, I responded in the same manner. I can't agree with everything said around here.

Corinthians director of football Edu Gaspar is in UK, and hopes to renew club's interest in Carlos Tévez.

"We'll see what the situation is [regarding Tévez], and look at signing him in the summer."

sad to see alot of people here only look at the ability of a player, but not the mental state or risks he brings

this beeing suggesting to play 5 attacking players that dont track back
or
getting a player that stirs shit up where ever he went, and admitted he hates europe and is only here for money

So, if we sign the likes of Grosso and Bonucci, you would be fine with it?
When did I say somentihng like that?
I've been saying all this time we need quality LB and CB which mentioned duo are certainly not. Chiellini can temporaly be moved on LB but he insn't what we need. My point is even if we make it until january and continue playing like we currently do, we still lack options at the back. On the other side our attack with Vucinic, Matri, Del Piero, Quag is very good.

You never said it. Let's say we have a chance of signing Tevez ( which I don't think we have), I would accept that in a heartbeat, because he's absolutely world class. Unless we are seeking a world class CB and LB I would choose Tevez over a CB and LB.

That's your opinion and I respect it. I don't want to repeat myself over and over again why I wouldn't sign Tevez. If it interests you you can find it somewhere. About Tevez being world class, how do you now that he would play good in Italy? There were plenty of very good players, better than tevez anyway who failed to repeat their form when they changed league: Shevcenko (Milan to Chelsea), Ian Rush (Liverpool to Juve), Kluivert(Ajax to Milan), and there are more. And you're right, we don't have a chance.
