It can be higher. The tax in Britain is lower than in Italy, which is why a person like Valentino Rossi lives in England.
The rate is not really the issue here; it is much better in Monaco, Switzerland or Luxembourg, for example. But the type of taxation meant he was spared for his image rights and sponsorships.

Another 4.3m for Iaquinta last season too.

Carlos Tevez: Will upset Adriano Galliani at AC Milan if he joins Juventus

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says he would be disappointed if Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez was to sign for Serie A rivals Juventus.

Milan had tried to sign Tevez in January last year after his bust-up with Roberto Mancini, but they settled their differences and the Argentine returned to first-team football later that season.

The 29-year has been linked with a move to Italian champions Juventus but Galliani is hoping that Tevez opts against the switch.

"I would mind a bit if he should go to Juventus, given the friendship we have built with him," he told Sport Mediaset.

"But the president Berlusconi is right - if Tevez had arrived in Milan, Balotelli would not have come here.

"We also followed Neymar but he was too expensive for us."

Reports in Italy have suggested that Juventus are also chasing the signing of Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, but say that they will only sign one of the two Argentinians.

Anyway, let's keep the faith. It's still possible to land him, imo. He hates Manchester and really wants to move. He's on the last year of his contract, so the transfer fee wouldn't be very high. The wages are indeed a problem, but if he could somehow accept 5-6m we might have a chance.

Also, wouldn't you think Manchester City or Tevez' agent would come out and deny what was reported yesterday if it wasn't true? I mean, it was all over the news, even SKY (both italian and in english), as well as Teamtalk etc.

Does he still have the same team of agents? I could see that being a problem for us.

So 4.3m/yr counts as nothing in your opinion? As well as the inability to offload such player?
No to the first part, although not sure what point you are making. Re-read my initial reply and your post. You answered your own question.

Second part as if Iaquinta is going to move to €1.5m elsewhere. He made his stand and he's now been out of football and presumably well out of shape.

Marotta always says we can't compete with other clubs, but if he actually didn't waste so much money we could.

I'm sure there are ways to get such player out off the books besides letting the €8.6m contract run out
