Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini insists his side want to go as far as possible in the Europa League this season.

The Bianconeri have a 2-1 aggregate lead over Ajax who are due in Turin for the second leg of their second round tie tomorrow evening.

Speaking to Juventus.com, Chiellini said: “We aren't particularly tense, but we certainly care about the game against Ajax.

“We are coming off the back of a good result in Amsterdam, but we know that it doesn't take much for a game to be turned around, so we care about doing well and showing it on the pitch.

“Juventus's strength has always been the defence and we are trying to work every day to eliminate even the minor defects.

“Certainly an objective for the next couple of games is to return to not conceding goals, because we haven't kept a clean sheet since November 22 against Udinese - that is if you exclude the Coppa Italia match with Napoli - and this annoys us a bit.

“We are out of the Cup and the title race and we will try to go forward in the Europa League. In Serie A our objective is to finish as high as possible. Now we are fourth and focusing on third place.

“We are concentrating on the next few games, because we know that a little bad spell can ruin everything. We need to live each moment and when things go bad it's wrong to feel them too strongly.”

Finally Chiellini joined Alberto Zaccheroni in praising the recent form of Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero.

“Alex is a world-class player the like of which you certainly can't find today. He has always shown it and this year it's the same.

“It's surely not by chance that the best period for certain players coincides with that of the team. His absence alarmed every one of us and when he has been in a position to make the difference the team has supplied its best performances,” he concluded.

Check what he said about Merda's game: "If I was to pick I would choose an Italian team, but I don't really care what Inter do". :D

What’s your best memory from your time with the Viola? I already follow you on Twitter…if I could meet you, I’d wear an Inter jersey the whole night? (Posted by a female Milanista)

Chiellini: An Inter jersey is not worth it, believe me! With the Viola, I had many friendships and my best goal I scored in Fiorentina-Parma.
