Physical qualities and anticipation are two different things.. Does Cannavaro have the physical qualities of a CB?

Chiellini flatters to decieve, against good opposition in the centre he will get earned, against good opposition in the centre alongside Boumsong or Crisctico we will get creamed.

Crisctico: reserve CB, Molinaro: reserve LB, Chiellini: sitting on someone else's bench with a fat fee burning a hole in Secco's pocket, end of story.

qualities and abilities dont make a good player....if that was the only criteria then Zebina and Boumsong would have been considered WC players

Chiellini is a better LB than CB right now, but he has better potential in the center. Whether we pick up a CB or an LB, he will and should be starting.

Starting CB could well be Meira and LB will be Heinze I reckon with Crisctico/Molinaro as our backups and Boum as the uber-reserve..

Andrade is big and as Ahmed pointed out, Heinze is also good in the air. Chiellini could still add that physical presence as leftback though.

Heinze is still not the best CB solution, wt we need is a proved CB like Miera

How is Meira a more proven CB than Heinze?

I rate Heinze as a better player anyhow.

i dunno Heinze's main strength is his aerial ability and Chi is quite tall himself
