I don't know why some people here are saying that he's not a ball paying defender?! Just because Bonucci has more of that duty doesn't mean Giorgio isn't involved in ball distribution either.
Whenever there's high pressure on Pirlo or Bonu, the plan seems to be to pass the ball to Giorgio as an alternative (more than Barza anyways); the problem is that he's so awkward on the ball that even when he's not fvckin things up like that goal incident, he usually over-hits his passes and our mid/attackers have difficulty controlling his passes, resulting in us losing posession/ruining our attacks.
Still his positives far overweight this negative aspect of his game, so I think we just have to deal with it.
Giorgio got many awesome defensive qualities such as positionning, anticipating opponents, jumping, heading and both awesome sliding and standing tackles

However, he has a bad ballcontroll, and a worse pass.

A ball playing defender, is simply put a defender with the passing range of a decent midfielder.

This.

Chiello shoulñd just focus on doing what he does best...crush bones.

As long as he gets a ball...pass is to whoever is available. He SHOULD NOT try to make runs or create somehting. He is a mess at doing that...totally a mess.

Chiellini been costing us one too many games. I hate to say this but from our best he probably went to our worst defender between Bonucci and Barzagli.
