I agree with peckface. Inter on paper is just unbelievably good. I mean that defence; Zanetti, Chivu, Cordova and Materazzi/Samuels, Maicon, Burdisso and Maxwell. Most of teams will shit themselves to have the back-up unit never mind their starting line-up.

Still if there is a weakness in their team, I think it is their center mid. I am not a big fan of Esteban Cambiasso. Injury to Viera like last year in run to Valencia tie, could be deadly for their preparation. But that attack looks fearsome. I am a huge huge huge fan of Suazo. He pissed on good defence last two years, epsecially Milan's (there is a reason why Carla wanted him so bad). Ibra with his talent is due for a truly great year that matches his talent. And Adriano cant continue his bad run of form. He is way too much talented.

Still, I love the fact that Crap tipped to win it all. So I can hate him and Inter even more.

Just before last season, we were laughing at the likes of Materazzi, Cordoba and Samuel. Materazzi was the biggest clown ever. Maicon was a nobody, Burdisso too. Chivu was always rated but his true self was shown at Old Trafford :)D). Maxwell is not better than the next top team fullback. Zanetti is the only one that showed he is consistent world class.

At the time we had players like Canna, Zlatan, Emerson, Zambro, Vieira, Thuram and Mutu... I wouldn't laugh at Materazzi while we have Legro, Boum, Biri and Zebina.

Well we did, but I have to say I have been proven wrong. And for a record, I never been a critic of Burdisso.;). I felt he went through some terrible things and there was no way in the world he could have concentrated and give his best. Good luck to him that his daughter's illness has been cured:pint: .Then again there is Navarro's sucker punch...:D

I liked Materazzi as a player. He is exceptional organiser of defence, and highly underrated defender, because he had a shocker of WC in 2002, where he tried his best to knock Italia out of the group stage. But apart from two seasons ago, his performance has been solid, and quite under-appreciated IMO. I didnt know Maicon until last year, but my word, he can flat out play. I love his physique. He is made to play full-back position. And Chivu, you will probably know, I am out of superlatives to discuss him. Top 3 defender IMO.

But you know despite all this talent, Inter will find ways to choke. They did with CL last year going out to inferior Valencia team IMO. Despite vast squad, which makes them suitable for the league, they always have after december jitters to finish 2 or 3. But then again, I think this is quite easily the best Inter team in years, especially with Suazo, & Ibra up front. That is a good combination IMO.

How can you mention a classy guy and player like Birindelli among those... ehum, less good defenders? :D
I can still laugh at Materazzi though, he's shite in my eyes and always has been. Nowdays it's not so much laughter as it is pure hate. He destroyed the perfect World Cup final and ending to Zidane's career with his dirty antics.

Agree to a lot of what you point out here. Except the Materazzi and Chivu part. Suazo and Ibra looks a deadly combination indeed, let's just pray you're right about them choking. Or Suazo get injured (not Ibra, my NT need him).

I am not quite sure about how much credit we should give the likes of Maicon and basically the whole Inter team from last season. They did stroll through a weakened Serie A but didn't impress in the CL; you may argue that they were unlucky to get knocked out by Valencia but let's not forget they lost to Bayern at home, Sporting away and basically had a real struggle to get to the knock out stages. And now, their pre season tour has been even more poor than ours.

Look, I hate Inter. But I have no love for Juve, so I'm neutral.

So this is what I think:

I hate Moratti because he is an UGLY man, Mancini is a young long-haired fagmaster....

    Capello is a pinch-face cocksucker...

But I would choose Juve because they were old-school, they did it old-school style when punks were trying to fuck around.

So it's better to have old money run your club than it is to have some billionaire that has no idea what the fuck is going on run your shit.

And plus, I always loved this quote:

"The job of the [Italian] Prime Minister is to polish the Agnelli's doorknob."

So there you go Silvio, polish that knob......

    :D

PS - But just to let you all know, I like Milan's play and players more than Juve. Well, that's not true, I just like Pirlo and Seedorf.

    Then yo, we are straight.

Umm, not sure where it originated, but the quote I got was from Frank Foer, a journalist for the Washington [D.C.] Times. He wrote it in his book, "How Soccer Explains The World."
I like his game a lot. It is strange that, when people write down their starting line up for Juve 07-08, he is always left out. I think that will change. He is class.

He is a different type of class...he shouldn't start, and I know this because I watched him play for 5 or 6 years at every position but GK and CB.

He has more heart and drive than any player I've ever watched.

He was not blessed with skill on any area of the game compared to a true world class player. (Except drawing yellow cards.)

But the fact that he is so versatile and works his little Bosnian ass off.....makes him a great addition to any team.

he is like a Rino Gatusso that can play anywhere.

Obviously haven't seen as much of him as you do, but it seems I have got the same impression of him as a player. I still think he is a starter though, especially when the alternative is Zebina :)scared:) or having a central defender on the flank.
