Category: General

Juventus boss Fabio Capello is convinced that his side have recovered from the Arsenal loss and are ready to get their season back on track.

The Old Lady suffered a massive psychological blow by losing the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie 2-0 on Tuesday, but the Coach insists his side are still in the tie.

“We are disappointed with our second half performance in London,” the tactician stated on Friday afternoon.

“We’ve watched tapes of the game and the goals we conceded were evitable.

“The squad was down after the loss, but we have started working hard again and convinced that we have what is needed to overturn the first leg result.”

The Bianconeri return to Serie A action first though and travel to Treviso on Saturday evening looking to maintain their eight-point lead at the top of the table.

“It is important to get the win even if we shouldn’t be looking at the standings at this point of the season,” he added.

“We must step on to the field of play looking to just play our own game. Focus is needed though as I fear the fitness of Treviso.”

Capello is likely to rest a few individuals before Wednesday’s Arsenal game, but he is without the suspended Pavel Nedved plus the injured Alessandro Del Piero and Jonathan Zebina.

“Del Piero is on the road to recovery and is running, but he isn’t sprinting just yet,” Capello continued.

“However, I can confirm that Alessandro Birindelli will be included in the squad for the first time since his injury in pre-season.”

Brazilian midfielder Emerson, given that Patrick Vieira will be suspended in the week, will probably be rested.

Either Lilian Thuram and Fabio Cannavaro are also set to be allowed to catch their breath during tomorrow night’s game.

Source: Football Italia

That's a clever piece of media work. Sure, we'll get back on track, he says. Now, if Juve go out, no one cares - that comment will do no more harm, but if Arsenal find their familiar pathetic away form in Europe, Capello is the saviour, the rock, who didn't go whinging about how little impression Juve made a la Nedved, but turned the team around... :blah:

All I want is for Juve to play a respectable game at the level they deserve to be recognized for in Europe.

But even down 2-0, I still expect Capello's strategy to come out much like we did at home against Liverpool last season.

I am not a media fan myself too, Juventus.com is differet thou, since it is the official.
Didn't check it, am not going to check it anyway, but he better do these, and convince the players, I mean If he doesn't believe it himself, then how the players will perform the rest of the matches anyway..

He predicted something else not that long ago, it didn't work with him. I'd say he should stop predicting

and coaching.

I'm not blaming anyone, except Zebina and Camoranesi(Camor is btw the player which I really respect),we had one bad performance, but we also had many great performances this year...

...In the 1/4 final every team can beat you,and there is nothing special about Arsenals win,but heeeeeeyyyy wait, another leg is coming, and I have fate in JUVE!

His previous genius predicition works against Bremen thanks to the Comedian GK... I think he has better future in prediciting than coaching....
