Category: General

Fabio Capello is understandably delighted with his side’s progress this year, but insisted that it’s too early for praise. "Let’s hope the toy doesn’t get broken," he said.

Capello’s Juventus are 10 points ahead of their nearest challengers in the Serie A table, having won every League match except one.

They also learned today that they are to play Werder Bremen in the next round of the Champions League, which is sure to please those who feared drawing one on Europe’s heavyweights.

However, while things may be going swimmingly at this stage of the season, it is the business end of the campaign which matters most and, as yet, Juve have not won anything this term.

"Praise is all very nice," said Capello today. "But we must look forward. Let’s hope the toy doesn’t get broken because at the moment it works very well and is very beautiful.

"This side certainly has some great champions," he continued. "But I don’t like to look too far forward.

"I think from game to game and we’ll just have to wait and see what we will have accomplished at the end of the season."

Don Fabio has two matches to worry about before the two-week Christmas break. Juve travel to Lazio on Saturday, before playing Siena on Wednesday night, and facing the Biancocelesti is a prospect not without its difficulties.

"We accept all the praise and the records that you remind us of, but we must think about the here and now - Lazio and Siena," he continued.

"Lazio are doing well and playing good football and it is not an easy away game, particularly as they have Tommaso Rocchi and Massimo Oddo fit again.

"When they attack they have a lot of quality and so we need to try and hit them by exploiting their weaknesses."

The Bianconeri will be without the injured Emerson and Gianluigi Buffon, who will be replaced by Manuele Blasi and Christian Abbiati respectively for the visit to the Stadio Olimpico.

Source: Football Italia

    Toy?

Is Capello looking forward to Christmas or some shit?
Maybe he's seen the latest Christmas billboards in SF's metro system for Good Vibrations that say, "Good things come in our packages."

Who knew Capello was such a perv, eh? ;)
