Capello has just led Juve to their 28th Scudetto, but is not about to rest on his laurels and let the club's standards slip.

The Old Lady have scored the most goals in Serie A this term along with conceding the least, but Capello still wants to strengthen.

"I have clear ideas about who to sign in the summer," said Capello .

"We will have to see whether it will be possible to acquire them.

"I can say we do not need keepers or strikers , I can't make this any clearer.

"This has been the hardest title to win against the hardest of opponents [Milan].

"It is an honour for us because we came from behind twice.

"The key games were our wins at Stadio Olimpico against Lazio and then the San Siro win against Milan."

Juve confirm double capture

Both players have arrived on free transfers from Lazio and Bayern Munich respectively.

Midfield dynamo Giannichedda will add some extra bite to Juve's midfield, while Croatian stopper Kovac will look to earn a starting role alongside Fabio Cannavaro at the heart of the Old Lady's defence.

"This has been an extraordinary season for Juventus and we proved throughout the campaign that we were better than Milan," said Juve's director general Luciano Moggi.

"As for next year, the team is already competitive and we have already reinforced the squad with the signing of Kovac and Giannichedda."

However, Juve's summer spending will not be finished with Giannichedda and Kovac. They are being strongly linked with Palermo's Andrea Barzagli, although Walter Samuel of Real Madrid could be an option but only if they allow Emerson to move in the opposite direction.

Moggi did confirm that Juve would no longer be pursuing Monaco's Shabani Nonda - but denied he had failed a medical.

"It isn't true he made medical checks and he failed them," added Moggi .

"We simply looked at him, but after evaluating our attack we think it is complete so we decided to give-up on him. We can't make a forwards' collection .
"We will do only few adjustments."

Moggi again insisted that David Trezeguet would be staying and that was one reason they did not need another forward.

"Trezeguet will stay at Juve and I say it clearly ," he said.

"We don't surrender to pressures. We decided to stay with him next season and so David will stay with us next season.

"Our attack will be practically the same, with the addition of [Adrian] Mutu .

"If anything I could take in consideration few proposals about Marcelo Zalayeta, maybe a loan."

interesting. no surprises about no keepers or strikers coming in. we have a good collection. i just hope trezeguet can stay on the field, which most likely he will not.

zalayeta should stay, he is a natural replacement for trez.

anyway, defenders and midfielders are very much needed. i wouldnt mind seeing a big name defender and midfielder come in. i wonder what the budget is for the summer.

yeah but spark wont be added. when you say spark, you want a midfielder who can really be creative and add a lot of flare as such. Capello wont have that in this team. Capello will ask for a Pizarro type who can do both defending and creating in midfield. Names such as Pizarro and Emre is what he would be looking at, those types of players. I wouldnt mind seeing Ballack join actually. Just happened to catch the german cup final on tv and he looked very good. he has the exact qualities our team needs in mdifield.

A big mistake it would be to keep trezequet,
an injury proone u know its not gonna be there when u need him,
the only finisher of the team and loan the only man who can replace him(zalayeta).

The comments make clear that the biggest and more changes will be in the midfield,a BIG NAME (and i dont mean Giannichedda)
is coming.
If olivera get loaned we will sign another creative midfielder,
and we need a winger able to back up nedved(If chiellini really joins zambro can do it)

The riddle is the defence,
we already took Kovac,a player who can replace Thuram or Canna,
it seems Chiellini is coming to back up Zambro.
What are we going to do with zebina?
We will buy just another back up RB like bonera(who can also back up CBs) or someone good enough to bench him and further strenghen our team?

There is no real reason to buy a world class player like Samuel and keep him on the bench,
IMO if he joins Cap has in mind to change our sustem to 3-man defence

Saying and that and waching prior transfer periods with Moggi as protagonist, i have to point out two things:
-If we wont buy a 3rd world class defender(we arent really interested to change our system, wich Capello loves more than everything), it means that our interest isnt focus on def,
having Moggi say that we are interested only for Defence and Midfield means that its just a usual smokescreen Moggi's style now backed by Capello to surpise everyone with a big forward Transfer.

-With the some logic the comments we wont buy Cassano 2days after a try to buy him,
and we wont sell Mutu 2days after we offered him as an exchange means exacly the opposite.
There is smoke here and soon we will see the fire.
A deal is in the talks,
every year we buy a new forward,
nonda's transfer failed for a certain reason.

This year our priority is a world class player to partner emo to the midfield and there no serius talks and officialy offers to any yet.

either dp or Trez has got to go this year, there's no point in having players like that warm the bench all year. We might as well have younger, hungrier options.

I'd personally only want Cassano if he were :

a) to sit in the hole
b) play ALONGSIDE mutu not instead of him

So basically itsleft to the defence/midfield. Nice to see we've signed another Tacchinardi-clone, as we do every year, (we must have the most defensive midfielders in the world at the minute) and yet another ageing centre half. Two words..YOUTH and CREATIVITY as we've been stressing for at least 3 seasons now that is what we need.

With all that speculation about Cassano, I can't help but feel Moggi is planning to get someone else entirely.Moggi often doesn't get players rumoured to Juve.

Vieri is probably the player most often rumoured to be coming to Juve in the past half a decade, so the chances of Moggi buying him are close to nil ;)

still, I'd be a bit more re-assured if we were linked to him a few times, just to dispel any remaining doubts in my mind ;)
