like we did with everything else?

i only jsut thought of this right now?

wouldnt the world be a better place if we had destroyed the technology for the nuclear bomb? (after end of ww2)

i know there would be more terror attacks and so forth, but overall we wouldnt have as much capability to destroy ourselves

anyone here ever played metal gear solid 2:sons of liberty? (haha my idea is slightly like the plot in that)

There's a classic Greek tragedy of the man who is granted immortality -- only to have to suffer through an endless life where his body decays, he becomes a blind cripple, limbs start falling off, everyone he ever knows dies before him, etc. ... that sort of thing. (You know those wacky ancient Greeks.)

No we cant be immortal, were not even close to find out about cancer, aids and a lot of other diseases.

And yeah who would want to live forever?!, thats just egoistic and totally wrong since we are not intended to live forever.

They can never be. There will always be diseases that cannot be cured, because like dinosaurs, the human race has a deadline, that will one day expire. Imo.

True baggio. Unless the humans colonises space, then there isnt many generations before the human rase is gone.

The future threat from viruses, nature disasters and other problems will soon wipe us away.

I think it would get veeery boring to live on and on. People should try to learn to live here and now and stop worrying about tomorrow - or future - so much.

Some think we live on in our children and their children etc

Some think our souls reincarnate over and over

The latter could be interesting, not having to be the same person forever :D

You know there happens to be this Author Brian Weiss who has written a book called "Only love is real", its about incarnation, in the book he goes on to say how our souls exist forever. And when we die, our soul takes its time and awakens to choose and enter a new body, he gives real life accounts of patients who remember their past lives, and hes mentioned how people have lived 86 times before (which is scary when you come to think of it).
