Okay there is a slight difference between being a flop and just being crap. As far as flops are concerned Salas, Haessler, Laudrup were flops. I guess I will have to do 2 for the blog. 1 will concentrate on flops while the other will focus on really crap players we have had down they years. Thank you for the effort people. I will mention you guys in the blog if you prefer me to mention your real names and then let me know before friday as i plan to wrap it up by then but if you prefer your monikers thats fine by me. Once again thanks

1 Tomas Hassler comes to mind.
2 i wouldn't put Ian Rush on the list.
    3 Luigi De Agostini,
Such a shame Hassler under achieved at Juve, I agree with you.

Ian Rush had a big problem with life in Italy in general which is why he played like a "fart in a trance!"

Luigi De Agostini was an unsung hero. He had a lot of Zambrotta's qualities, could play defence or midfield, AND, he took a mean free kick...but if you're looking for another under achiever of the late 80's-early 90's, do you remember Carrera, our over rated, so called sweeper?

I dont remember Rush and De Agostini because i was only 8 in 1987 <i only read a lot about them> but i remember Carrera
I remember him from Atalanta more than from Juve. I wish all our opponents have one Carrera in their defense :D

Giancarlo Corradini, I'm surprised no one mentioned him. He has the worst coaching record at Juventus , 2 last matches in Seria B , two defeats.

dude he had like 2 weeks with a team that at that time had no motivation to win and a number of players unhappy and looking to exit. remember trezegol's hand signal after his goal. sure it is the worst coaching record yet it really was not his fault and you cant judge a player or coach after 2 weeks in his job.

    Isaksson

    Napoli Luppi Mastropasqua De Marchi

    Alessio Magrin Zavarov Dimas

    Pacione Buso/Traspedini

    Coach : Marchesi/Maifredi
Coincidentally i was thinking how much Alessio looks like Nicola Amoruso yesterday. I don't remember anything about Marchesi but Gigi Maifredi is in a class of his own as regards incompetence. Thanks for your team

half of the names I have burried deep into my memories, all these players makes you wonder, how in hell did we manage all these trophies.

With those players like Luppi, Alessio, Galia and Zavarov we won sweet FA. Actually I thought Zavarov was good player.

Well you won the UEFA Cup in 1990 (back when it was still a quality competition), though Im not sure whether Alessio and Zavarov (who indeed was more of a flop than a fundamentally mediocre player) were still there.

I think Galia was a decent mid, a bonafide water-carrier. Hardly the worst player Juve had during those 7 years in the wilderness. He scored the winner in San Siro in some Milan-Juve of the early 90's and was even picked for the NT a couple of times if I am not mistaken.

To his credit, Marchesi had inherited only the scraps of Trap's cannibalesque Juve, but he also lacked in too many departments to coach a big team.

Maifredi on the other hand had quite a good squad. Well behind Milan and still inferior to Inter and Napoli, but his bizarre tactics prevented you from even grabbing a UEFA spot (until then, something unprecedented for Juve I believe).

Mastropasqua I basically only inserted because of the funny name.

I may have been a bit too harsh on Magrin as he wasn't that horrible and paid the price of being initially expected to replace Platini. Still not Juve material though.

Pacione is arguably the worst attacker I've had the chance to see play for you. Juve had bought him from revelation of the decade Verona after he had scored a double against you the year before. He played nearly every game in the serie A that season without scoring once, and beat the world record of missed sitters in a UEFA Cup tie against Barcelona which you should have won 6-1 but tied, thus going out of the tournament.

Buso and Traspedini were both affected by the "flash in a pan" syndrome. The former scored a hattrick against Maradona's Napoli aged 20, never to be heard again.

All in all, there may have been more mediocre players at Juve in the past decade than some of the aforementioned, but in a 25-30 players squad it's easier to do without them by just leaving them at home, whereas back in those days the more limited number of players a coah had at his disposal meant these guys would receive more exposure ergo more ridicule.
Is that Renato you are talking about? Goodness, I had forgotten he was a juve player, only think of Fiorentina when i see his name. Do you remember what Alessio's first name is ? As I am trying to find a picture of him to show his resemblance to Amoruso but I cannot find him anywhere. I will be surprised though if for ineptitude we had players in maifredi and Magrin's era to match Blanchard and Baiocco
