Luciano Moggi Not Happy After Juventus Stadium SnubPosted on Friday, 9th September 2011 by Adrian Del Monte

Luciano Moggi has expressed his annoyance after being snubbed by Juventus for the opening of their new stadium on Thursday.

The former transfer director, who left the club in the wake of Calciopoli in 2006, was not invited to the inauguration despite having a freight of close associations from his time there.

Moggi believes he should have been at the ceremony and claims he was involved in the planning of the new stadium before his departure as Juventus had acquired the old Stadio Delle Alpi in 2003 when he was still at the club.

“We had created the design for the new stadium and our architects went around the world trying to discover what was great about other stadiums,” Moggi told Radio Mana Mana Sport.

“However, I have nothing to say to anyone. It [the stadium ceremony] was a nice celebration, but those who were responsible for relegation in 2006 were invited.

“The same people who also allowed Inter to keep the 2006 title were also there.

“I was expecting an invitation…”

Moggi was at the club from 1994 until 2006.

as i thought once that juve and moggi are too strong to get penalised (never ever thought of demotion before 2006) because of the refs help, the same thing can happen with moratti and inter. justice can be made if it's up to uefa

Again..

Moggi should have been invited no matter how you look at it. Unless you're fucking stupid and blind.

Too many things in the ceremony that took place had Moggi written all over it. It's such a shame they invited someone like Abete and not Moggi. Big shame.

Either you fucking defend your 29 Scudetti as you should, or do not mention it and raise your 29 flags. This way you can justify inviting that fucking so called Abete to our new stadium.

It was just a ceremony bro. No official match.

Moggi is one of Juve's figures and it would only be normal to invite him. If he rejects it(I'm sure he wouldn't) then it'd be his call if not then let the man come and watch the ceremony, I'm sure he would have loved to be there.

The man keeps on fighting in courts to take back what was stolen through the Milan pigs. Give him some credits specially if you're honoring some of your biggest players ever that were brought in by Moggi and more importantly if you're waving the 29 Scudetti.

It just doesn't make sense to me.

That is all good ideologically. But from a PR point of view, it would have been an absolute disaster if we had invited Moggi.
I'd have loved Moggi there but I am with you on this one. The limelight would have been taken off Juve and our new stadium/team and entirely on Moggi. Smart move if you ask me because all the attention would have been on him and not the club and for the wrong reasons.

We were to celebrate the new stadium and new chapter...Moggi had a huge part in this club yes, absolutely but he represents a glorious yet dark chapter in the last major part of this club. Sooner or later we will need to move on.

IMO I think the club wants to continue buttering up to the league officials, etc with this ongoing investigation. Stay on their good graces because you never know when we might need to lock horns again with them. Inviting Moggi would have pissed them off all over again. When the dust settles and this investigation is complete and in our favor, then bring moggi back into the ranks/limelight of the club.

Until then, it is probably best to keep our distance.

I suppose that he is taking our football rivalry a bit too personal. Nevertheless, I'm glad he didn't show up and that's the way it should be after all the damage he has done to Juventus. Just imagine the chaos his presence would have brought in the stadium.
