A police officer has written a comic book on the Calciopoli scandal, claiming there was “no proof” against Luciano Moggi or Juventus.
Franco Zampa is a Bianconeri supporter and was involved in the process of the 2006 trial, which saw the club stripped of two Scudetti and demoted to Serie B.
“I want this book to let everyone know there is another truth to the one described by the media,” the author of 'An Ode to Inconsistency’ told Tuttosport.
“In 2006, when the first evidence emerged, everything suggested Juventus and director general Moggi were guilty.
“But the articles I read were lacking proof. When I read the dossier, I expected to find something consistent. There are descriptions of serious incidents and absurd situations, but there’s never any actual evidence.
“Conclusions are reached without listing the facts. There is simply no proof. As Sherlock Holmes said, you start an investigation with facts in order to reach a conclusion. My colleagues started from a conclusion.”
Moggi is currently at the centre of another Calciopoli trial in Naples, this time through the law courts rather than the sporting system, and has brought forward new previously unheard wiretaps.
“Moggi was the perfect villain for public opinion,” continued Zampa. “It has never been proved how the ex-director general corrupted a referee and forced him to favour Juventus.
“Wiretaps are useful, but they are a means to reaching evidence, not evidence per se. In my view, there is no evidence that can be presented to a court of law.
“In a sporting justice system that is another matter. Moggi may well be guilty of unfair behaviour, but that should be punished at most with a fine or a points penalty, certainly not demotion and two Scudetti.
“I repeat, in Moggi’s phone calls there is nothing all that compromising.”

The row between the clubs had calmed down after the 0-0 draw at San Siro, but is escalating again with the Calciopoli trial on-going in Naples.
The Bianconeri are pushing for the 2006 title – which was revoked from Juve and handed to Inter – to be removed from the Nerazzurri’s record.
“Juventus want back the Scudetti that were revoked in Calciopoli, but the truth is they ought to give back the 1998 title,” slammed Simoni in Sportpaper.
He was Coach from 1997 to 1999 and came very close to winning Serie A, but Juve emerged on top partly thanks to a controversial 1-0 win.
It was the infamous game that saw Ronaldo barged off the ball by Mark Iuliano, then Juve went on the counter and were awarded a penalty at the other end.
“Apart from that day at the Stadio Delle Alpi, our progress was damaged in many other incidents.
“Plus we ought to say that during that period, along with suspect refereeing, the Bianconeri were involved in the investigation into doping after Zdenek Zeman raised the alarm.”
The investigation cleared Juventus of any wrong-doing, confirming the substances used were legal and not banned.

when you sanction a club in such manner for the "guilts" of one man there's the guarantee of a non existant proof against the club itself. all "actions" of moggi were gathered and the verdict came after making up a new law. Juve was fucked up in court for like 2 months and sended down to b...it was an organised thing, and after some weeks figc won the wc because juventus existed. I donno what is taking so long for that appeal, i donno why Juventus Club itself tries to regain those titles. This was the greatest humiliation of a club ever...and some folks in the bod are talking about a new juve, a new future, bla bla...we are Juve and we must remain the same Juve that we were over the years, even the 98-06

There should not be any surprises, but with the Italian system of "justice", who knows? As I've stated before, Juve was convicted at a hastily arranged trial that took one week. With the amount of evidence that needed to be examined, any other court would have spent at least 18, perhaps 25 months, to try this case.
indeed, but i think they call it surprises because of the hastily arranged trial that was all about juventus with small calls of other clubs, they didnt examine the others or just skip them. thats why we all think inter played big part on the whole thing because everytime they show new call involve them it sounds more than what moggi did or said.

Juventus' hopes of seeing the two revoked Scudetti from Calciopoli returned have been given a boost by one of Luciano Moggi's lawyers.
Paco D'Onofrio, who is acting on behalf of Moggi and is an expert in sports law, has said the rulings from the 2006 sports trial, which saw Juventus revoked of two Scudetti and sent to Serie B, can be overturned.
And he claims there is no need for the FIGC to wait until the end of the current trial at the tribunal of Naples to make a decision. For their part, the Italian FA have been looking at evidence from the ongoing trial in relation to making their own enquries in 2006.
"To ask for a review of the 2006 process there is no need to wait for the outcome from Naples," the lawyer told Radio Power Station.
"A large number of proof has emerged compared to 2006, therefore we would just need the new wiretaps and all the witness statements that have come out from the trial in Naples to totally overturn the sentence of 2006."
The trial in Naples, in which Moggi has shown a variety of club directors, spoke with referees and designators, is expected to resume on Tuesday.
Over 171,000 wiretaps have emerged at the trial, material of which was not available during the original trial in 2006, and which some argue would have seen a different outcome four years ago.
