I don't know what Milan was relegated for exactly, but if two players and even a coach lost a match intentionally, for gambling. Relegating that club sounds ridiculous, even if it was Inter. imo, the players and the coach involved should be banned of playing/coaching, let's say for a year?
Two players just got banned for 1 year for missing a doping test. It was proven that they were clean.

If that is worth 1 year, math fixing is worth a lot more.

Why is it that the Italian police seem to be able to do this whenever they feel like it?
Because Italy has ridiculously open rules, compared to the rest of Europe, when it comes to phone tapping.

Rule is a rule, even if they were proven clean or not, they should have showed up for the test at time.

A club can't be responsible for their players if they "fix" a match or not, they didn't want to win, what would the club do anyway? it's not the same as offering the opponent money to lose, this case is different, and I believe the club shouldn't get involved, since non of the directors are involved, but there must be a rule that players shouldn't bet/gamble, is there?

btw. How long was Mutu banned then? Can't remember.

I think it was 8 months Mutu got, but I'm not sure.

I'm not saying the club should be punished for the actions of a couple of individuals, particularly if the club didn't benefit.

I'm merely suggesting that any players found guilty should get a very long ban from football.

If the story is complete and total BS then Inter, Mancini and Materazzi should sue the journalists' asses till they take every single penny out of them.
I know it's Inter and all, but this kind of BS stories make me sick. Sure, it's ok to put presure on the rival teams, but this shouldn't be the way to do it.

Btw, such a shame it will be for the Inter fans if this story turns out to be a lie.
Imagine what a great excuse it would have been whenever Juve beats them :

"Some of our players took bets against Inter and they lost the match on purpose"

oh I see, my bad. Even thou 1 year is huge ban, I do agree with you, these things should be stopped forever, and only heavy bans will prevent it.
