Allen you are right about no Serie B in 1913 but by the 20s there was a Serie B and the relegation rule was used. Venezia and a host of other teams were all relegated. The last place team of each division suffered the drop (i.e. Inter) while the second last and third last teams had to play in a summer tournament playoff for salvation.

Venezia (3rd last) were given an automatic drop) while Inter was saved and placed in the salvation tournament where they "earned" their right to stay in Serie A after defeating two teams that had since gone bankrupt. Neither team fielded a squad and Inter won by default.

You're right. Sorry for the wrong info i gave for that particular season. I just checked rsssf and the history of F.I.G.C Championship and Venezia were indeed relegated to FIGC Championship eventhough they were 3rd last while Inter and Brescia were placed behind them.

It's obvious that Inter should have been relegated. No doubts about that.
I don't know the reason why Venezia was the relegated team. I doubt it had anything to do with Inter being a powerful team in 1922. They surely weren't. If they were they wouldn't have finished dead last.
Venezia's relegation has nothing to do with Inter's power and it probably has to do with them going bankrupt ( do you know the reason, gsol ? )
But even if everything was fair and Inter have to thank the fortuna, it still remains a fact that Inter should have been relegated back then if Venezia's problems didn't save them.

    Ya I know the reason.

It's called "Il Compromesso Colombo" (The Colombo Compromize).

Colombo was the then director of...La Gazzetta Dello Sport. He solicited the Federation to modify various things and among them save Inter. The federation listened. There are links regarding it but I found none in English unfortunately. Maybe it's just too long ago.

Just when Inter were not able to make a decent attack, Cambiasso dives between players who were not moving at all and Inter get the penalty. It is really disgusting.

    I can't believe this shit.
I thought, after all the accusations towards them, the refs will be more careful and more fair.
I didn't see the penalty, but from what you say it's really disgusting.

This isn't even funny anymore. You'd think that they'd have the decency to be a bit careful about it. They're just doing this on purpose. I don't know who's behind it all, but I sure don't believe these are innocent mistakes. Someone is messing with the results in favour of Inter.

Puts Calciopoli part 1 in a whole new daylight as well.

It's all good, they are "just human" errors...no big deal...And than Merdatti has the nerve to say “Inter are the prestige club in Milan who never had problems with the law” and " Inter are the heart of Milan because we are clean"....
This dude is more delusioel and fukt up then Ruineri...

Even ill admit that there is something fishy about Inter this season.I wont get into what happened before the scandal,im keeping this to the present situation.

Inter are definatley getting unfair help. But like Seven said,if they're going to cheat, they'd be a bit more careful. This isnt one club talking against them.Several clubs have said that the referres are helping Inter this season. So the only thing that confuses me that would Moratti etc be stupid enough to get such obvious help from the officials?I think there's something bigger behind this.Something that includes Inter obviously, but it doesnt include Inter alone.I dont know what it might be,but Inter are cheating, and they are doing it a bit too obviously.Surely they arent stupid enough to not notice how openly they're being helped.

Either the refrees are getting carried away a bit too much on Moratti's orders,or there's more to this than just Inter.I doubt very much if Moratti would want his team to get such obvious referring favours. If someone's going to cheat, they'd atleast do it in a slightly 'better' manner.Inter are cheating, but why its happening so opnely is weird.Id be surprised if Moratti isnt worried about the open help the refrees are giving his team. They might have a lot of powerful figures in their pocket, but even then you'd expect them to cheat in a manner that looks less suspicios. But that isnt the case here.
