The people who live in conquered areas became equal citizens of the empire. They did not get their hands chopped off when they failed to meet rubber collection quotas. There was also no gulag. Armenians? Along with jews, they were the richest in whole empire before you provoked them and throw them into fire.
Oh, it's russian who to blame for genocide?

My favourite is The Great Sparrow Campaign where they killed all birds to prevent them eating crops but instead overly populated insects gone berserk and ate all the crops. Result: 30 million died of starvation.
My favourite part is when Erdogan piss on his own country from the sky and no gives a damn

Writing in the late 1890s after a visit to the Ottoman Empire, the British ethnographer William Ramsay described the conditions of Armenian life as follows:

"We must, however, go back to an older time, if we want to appreciate what uncontrolled Turkish rule meant, alike to Armenians and to Greeks. It did not mean religious persecution; it meant unutterable contempt ... They were dogs and pigs; and their nature was to be Christians, to be spat upon, if their shadow darkened a Turk, to be outraged, to be the mats on which he wiped the mud from his feet. Conceive the inevitable result of centuries of slavery, of subjection to insult and scorn, centuries in which nothing that belonged to the Armenian, neither his property, his house, his life, his person, nor his family, was sacred or safe from violence – capricious, unprovoked violence – to resist which by violence meant death!"

In addition to other legal limitations, Christians were not considered equals to Muslims and several prohibitions were placed on them. Their testimony against Muslims by Christians and Jews was inadmissible in courts of law wherein a Muslim could be punished; this meant that their testimony could only be considered in commercial cases. They were forbidden to carry weapons or ride atop horses and camels. Their houses could not overlook those of Muslims; and their religious practices were severely circumscribed.

This is just Wikipedia. I am sure there is a lot of stuff like this out there. They were not equal citizens. The Armenian genocide is almost as well established as the Holocaust. Give it a rest. Realise that you are an incredibly ignorant man and speak no more of such issues.

I think we can all agree refugees don't want to live in either Turkey or Russia. Your countries suck equally. Congratulations.

Not sure you've noticed, but the Soviet Union isn't doing particularly well these days.

Because there are no good politics in all of these countries, for 25 years they were not able to produce atleat 1 proper president, this is diagnosys
Kazakhstan - Nazarbayev is leader for 25 years or so - total corruption
Azerbaijan - Aliev Sr. and Aliev jr. now fr 25 years - total corruption
Russian Fed. - Eltsin and Putin - total corruption
Ukraine - Kravchuk, Kuchma, Yanukovich, Poroshenko - total corruption

As for Tajikistan, Moldova, Turkeminstan everything is the same, greedy sons of bitches came to power, not willing to give it away and not willing to improve the quality of life in this countries, all they want money and power, that's it, so the best key to do it is totally own TV, radio, newspapers, like Putin did and that's it, you have the nation of brainwashed lambs, all their troubles in life exists are only because of Obama, EU and so on

English were number 1 enemy of Ottomans and Islam, so Lord William Cunt is not the best source. Greek and Armenians, especially the ones in Istanbul were mostly rich people. Along with Jews they controlled the whole trade business while Muslims were controlling a very small percentage. In late 1890's things might be got worsened, as there were news coming from greece and eastern provinces where Greeks and Armenians massacred Muslim populace.

Second part is about religious issue, yes they were not allowed to carry weapons or ride atop horses and camels in cities but they were free to continue their religion in their worshipping places like nowhere else. Anatolia is full of 2000 years old churches. Even today, Greek don't allow a single Mosque to be build in Athens despite having a Muslim minority. What about Spain? Is there anything left from 500 years old of Al-Andalus rule?

Refugees is a hot topic here now as more than 2 million came here to espape from assad and isis while whole europe did not accept more than 150.000 of them. And they like it here, it is predicted only %25 of them are planning to return when all this over. Same can't be said for locals, but refugees have no problem of living here.

I don't know about Russia though. Thousands of Russian and former Soviet citizens arrived here in 90's, mostly women. They still keep coming, some of them marry, some of them to do different business.
