In short western media has no respect (for lack of better word) for anyone. Day in, day out, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brian, David Letterman...etc make a joke of everybody. Bush, Clinton, Osama, Arnold, most of Arab Kings, prince charles...etc were made fun of. It is just the way western media operate.
    Agreed.

    Dr Juve Chill Out man!!

If you take everything that comes from western media seriously you wont ever live peacefully.
Same goes for the Middle Eastern media as well...actually make that any sort of media.

If there wasnt then you should laugh at it. If there was just ignore it dont get mad, getting pissed would be essentially the purpose of it....so just ignore it!
That's right, they insult almost anybody on an equal playing field.

That's true.. A saudi paper once claimed that Jewish people use the blood of Muslims and Christians in one of their festivals..

That's propaganda at its finest, folks! :cheesy:

what is your view on Al Jazeera Rami? I myself know it's not that bad. But over here's its considered "the devil" in media.
Not really a big fan of it. They caused more problems than they solved. Lots of arab countries got into conflict because of their debate programs. Knowing that it is owned by a Qatari prince doesnt help either.

Al-Jazerah revolutionized the middle east. Before Al-Jazeerah, government controlled media is all what we got. These medias strategy was "everything is well, the people are living prosperous". When Al-Jazeerah came along people opened there eyes that its not the case. Before Al-Jazeerah people didnt dared talk about conspiracies, shady dealings, and scandals their governments were into. Only in closed meetings and with most trusted people they would discuss such issues. Now it is done more freely. People now know that whats really happening isnt nessecairly be reflected accuratly by the media whatever source it was.

    What newspaper was that Nawaf??

In our world one should use his head before believing such sources....the problem is that lots of people fall into it, which makes you the odd one out...Indeed this is exactly what I am going through!

so despite it's "fitna" ways, is it safe to say that it has started a trend where others will start something like it, perhaps better?

Yes they did, and others started taking their footsteps. Al-Arabiya is now their most fierce competitor. I like them more because their programs are more constructive than Al-Jazeerah. With Al-Jazeerah you feel everything is a conspiracy, everything is a plot. True there are plots and conspiracies but not EVERYTHING!!

Feeding on this conspiracy shit will not help relief the woes of this world, on the contrary it will just ignite it more!

Yea, most people in the west are too free-thinking for that to really happen.

I don't mean that as a dis either, I just meant it as an observation.

Being free-thinking does not immune someoone from taking what the media projects for granted...the fact that there is so many stereotypes about every nation or people in the world is proof of that. Most of us have stereotypes about people different than us....which the media has a major role in feeding.

True, it is the media's job to do that, if you think about it.

Why would CNN be pro-Saudi, of Al-Jazeera be pro-American?
